Furrocious.

What's the difference between the US and the UK review?

    Units of measure?

Nope. Its just that the US version of PC GAMER is rubbish.

On an unrelated note US PC Gamer gave Rome: Total War 92%. Go buy, now!

I certainly hope HL2 comes out soon. I can only not kill myself for so long

They're probably written by completely different people. However "Gaming" mags tend to be full of overhyping and blatant sucking up in the UK. Only one worth paying to purchase is Edge IMO.

Hahaha. I'm sure that European PC Gamer is better, even though that the US version is the #1 Gaming news ANYTHING in the world in relation to getting previews and pre-release games in the world. Yeah. Sure the Eu version's better

I love how people on the internet always rant about the "journalists" that write the magazines they read all day. Not only gaming but also political and stuff. It's funny that gamers always know ten times more than the magazine ppl.

The last issue of PC Gamer UK contained some bad editing. I expect to see apostrophe abuse and "they're" misuse on the internet, but in a major gaming magazine? Ugh.

The entire time I've had PC Gamer US(5 years), I've never seen ONE mistake other than categorial mistakes. No spelling, no grammar. The only one was switching Natural Selection's and The Specialists categories(engrossing gameplay for Specialists, and Natural Selection's real world weapons. Haw-haw!)

I just wish you damned euros would get off your high horse. Were not all as stupid as out president

The UK version is the forefather of the little American whelp, it's so much better!

But not all that good, now that KG writes for it only du temps en temps. Still, a HL2 review will still be a must-buy issue, I really regret throwing away my 1998 review of PC Gamer, reading that first put me onto the game.

This isn't exclusive by any means, by the way. The dutch mag PC Gameplay also has a HL2 review out October 5th, with PC Zone UK coming a pathetic October 8th. Other mags? I know not.

It's only recently that they've been creeping in. I honestly can't remember whether they changed editors, because I don't care who does it.

Edge has some good articles, but I don't usually agree with the reviews that much.

Tequila, your avatar looks a wee bit familiar...wasn't Flint Paper using that? :P

PCG US has had it reviewed for months anyway.(and no- I'm not kidding. For example, D3 was reviewed QUITE a bit before Gold- mostly because Carmack told them "All thats left is engine tweaks. You're playing the final version of DOOM 3, if not the final version of the engine."- hence why they warned in their review anyway that it may not be warning about bugs.

    Reviewed for months? Preposterous, sir!

Edge is a funny one. Flicking through it, you think it's a case of style over substance, but once you digest some of its pristine content you find it's more quality over quantity. But with style. So style and quality - substance and quantity + substance = Edge.

Still, I rarely buy mags anymore, and Edge is one pricey read.

T'would be fitting if it came out on october 31st. A day after my birthday and two years from when NS was released.

Anyone remember UK mag Amiga action? The one that gave Jaguar XJ220 a ridiculous 97% review, and instead of reviewing the Amiga version of Subwar (with painfully slow and untextured graphics, being on an amiga and all) reviewed the PC one, complete with beautiful, texture-mapped screenshots and much commenting in the review about its awesome graphics.

The low point of UK games mags.

The problem with Edge is its reviews. They're of no higher quality than your Gamesmasters, except they use big words and mark down shovelware like Tomb Raider. They only gave Wario Ware a 6/10, too. The editorials have always been where the real entertainment lies, especially with Mr Biffo joining the crew.

But Stu Campbell will forever be the best games journalist, because even if you don't agree with him, he's just so damn headstrong that you can't help but love him. I am officially a Campbell fangirl.

And there's plenty of Nature Boy to go around, guy! Wooooo!

Quaunaut, there isn't a European PC Gamer. There are a few too many languages in Europe for that.

However, I do believe that PCG UK is the better magazine, although not by as much since Kieron Gillen stopped writing in the mag as regularly. This has got nothing to do with a high horse either; I've seen plenty of Americans who think the UK magazine is better (including a few game developers )/

    Blasphemer!

Okay, maybe that's a bit harsh, but still. PC Gamer has been and will always be my favorite PC Gaming magazine. I've been a subscriber since issue 1, and I plan to keep it that way. Only the best XD

Though things won't be the same since Billy was killed with a Rail-gun...

T'would be fitting if THE DANG THING WOULD COME OUT ALREADY. I MEAN JEEZ YOU COULD RELEASE IT WITH INVISIBLE ENEMIES AND I'D BUY IT.

PC Gamer US = pwn. If you don't like it, don't read it, but you don't get to complain about it. And if you do read it but don't like it, you probably like it inside. So stop complaining.
