If you press 1,2,3,4 (or any key bound to slot1/2/3/4) then it changes you to that weapon without needing you to click again. If you turn it off then try and swap weapon you can see the diffrence
Well what do you put in console for that <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='asrifle.gif' /><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::onos::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tiny.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tiny.gif' /><!--endemo-->
typing hud_fastswitch in the console should save permantly without needed to tweak configs. I know it work that way for me.
Now... if only the dev could apply this feature to invnext and invprev like DoD does... that would be great <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
But beware of Slot 4 when you have fastswitch on. In case you have 2 weapons there (for example grenade and welder) your weapon selection gets "stuck" there until you press fire.
Example: You have grenade and welder. You press '4' and you see the normal weapon list opening at the top of your screen. If you now try to change to slot 1, 2 or 3, nothing happens before you have selected one of the slot 4 weapons. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Imho the next weapon in the slot should just be selected without having to press fire.
My thing is skrewd up...i have fastswitch on...i use mousewheel to switch weapons but: when i do nextweapon it does fastswitch, when i do prevweapon it uses the menu thingey
I got used to it tho...i just use my numpad keys 2 switch gunz now...(ise use arrows 4 movement)
hud_fastswitch is great, but I love lastinv much better, it allows me to press 1 button constantly and change weapons instead of having to worry about two, and its much closer to my hand, thats just me though...

hud_fastswitch 0
Off, need to hit button then click.

Even better, add
hud_fastswitch 1
to your userconfig.cfg file to make it permanent!
(if it doesn't excist in your ns folder, make it.)

But is it possible to just use mousewheel and it change when u scroll down?
coz it didnt work with meh, but it would be very usefull....
you have to get the right binds for that
there are 2 ways to scroll through weapons, one is invnext/prev and the other is via impulses.
just look at your configs and figgure out the correct one.
/me is to tired/hungry to do the work

type: bind mwheelup
look at what it is bound to
type bind mwheeldown
look at what it is bound to
the one that looks like lastinv or previnv or nextinv or something is the style you want. make a similar bind for the other mwheel direction.
it aint that hard, just figgure it out.
