<div class="IPBDescription">New model for beta 6 needs some love.</div> I've got this new model for the bilebomb, which looks cool in HL model viewer, but there is a problem with the texture being all messed up in the game, the part thats supposed to be transparent, is transparent in the game. So I'm assuming theres something wrong with the model itself.
Basically, I'm wondering if anyone can fix this? The model was originally made by "Cloud King" as far as I know, so credits to him for this model.
You can get it from here: <a href='http://www.voogru.com/files/bilebomb.zip' target='_blank'>http://www.voogru.com/files/bilebomb.zip</a>
Anyone that can crack this gets a cookie.
I'll also accept another bilebomb model provided it uses transparency (with like goo on the outside and solid stuff on the inside) and provided it looks good (being maybe a tad bigger than the one posted).

Edit: Fixed link, sorry.

Hu wha?
I don't get you?
In all likelihood it sounds like someone forgot to put the proper value in for additive.
Second, you probably want MalambisBZ's acidrocket/bilebomb which is fried gold. DL link is around somewhere.

it's a rounde ball, it'll look the same no mater how your looking at it... don't look at me, it's voogru's model!
Eh, to each his own. I think it's a 110% upgrade from the original.

Ever thought that a lump of bile spewed up from an aliens mouth should look rather ugly? <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

mhm... that one? <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I think this fits Voogru's description, and would only require a little tweaking to be suitable for use as the Bile Bomb (it works fine as an Acid Rocket, but if I remember correctly, it is sideways when used as a Bile Bomb)
The original one can be found <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=43102' target='_blank'>here</a> (credits go to <b>MalambisBZ</b>).
The texture was just a rush patch job from an ns2.wad infestation texture and the fade's chest. Heh. 5 minute textures for the win. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
It currently fires backwards and at a strange angle, need to tweak that, but otherwise works fine ingame. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Works fine, isn't ridiculously oversized like the beach ball bile bomb we have now. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I know someone else did a sort of cluster-spore shaped one... I don't like it as much as Mal's but at the same time its still better than a big brown beachball with goo over it.
Does anyone know how to fix the problem where transparent textures appear flat-shaded when they are part of a model that isn't transparent?
EDIT: After investigating the model, the reason it is flat shading is because of two additive layers are in front of each other. Only way to fix it would to only see the goo on one side, but I assume that isn't wanted <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> . Either that or make the additive goo be more close to the model, only way.
Ok in lamemans terms, Basicly Two transparent layers over the top of each other = flat shade. I can fix it. It'll be hard but...
Of the goo, basicly yes. Like I said to fix up the bug you basicly can't have two layer over themselves.
And I'm not sure if it fixed it. I could get a good look.
EDIT: I managed to take a pic of the bilebomb. Nope still flatshaded.
