Could Use Ns Community Support On This One M8s...

Anyways... after talking to one of my good friends in the Linux users group we came upon a dilemma incured by the evil <span style='color:red'>Steam</span> *imagine the letters of the word 'steam' written in dripping fresh blood* As you may or may not know <span style='color:red'>Steam</span> requires you to have access to the internet, even when lan playing. This is of particular irritation to me because of my momentary current lack of said internet. Anyways we have talked to Valve and asked them if there was some way in which we could by pass that as there are several hundered people at this particular LAN and it costs much $$$ to rent internet connection ontop of renting out the whole wing of the SAC at UofL. Valve is like "noo u nubozors teh stheam wil not befuddled wit!!1" So thus we have the querry whether we can provide internet to all these people of which we have doubts. Obviously this issue was brought into light by CS 1.6 and CS:S but as you can tell it also pertains to Natural-Selection.
So while I am trying to hold an NS tourney I also now have an issue:
I have the old WON system installed (NS v2.01) and have the necessary NS install file and the hl1110.exe update which I can distribute, but now I have a problem. I'm not sure whether there is a way for me to distribute the non-steam engine or if there is a way to get steam to run offline. (no the run steam offline button doesn't work) Ugh headache, I want to do is run a simple NS tourney.
So if you want to sign up for the LAN and try to get NS on the map please help because Steam makes my head want to explode and it would be much better if I wasn't the only one trying to ssupport NS.

PS: if I could get this working you can finally get to enjoy my server which has been offline as of late, leading to much internet withdraw symptoms that come after me like midgets with hammers. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> I don't know if this helped anything but i let me vent the Steam trying to make my head explode. Arg. Lanwar's are so chaotic in preparations beforehand.
