I was wondering if some of you could give me a few sugestions of books that I could read that are similar(better?) than this series.

Ps. For anyone who has not read WoT, go get it an read all 10 books and the epiloge(sp?) after you read the first 10.

I'm still reading the sixth. Very goo books, you just need a lot of concentration and patience with them IMO.

Better than tolkien too. You dont need to learn any new imaginary languages or read anything that makes you want to keel into a fetal position and die. (Tom Bombadil anyone?) And also much more mature.

Raymond E. Feist and Terry Goodkind both write some good stuff, enough to keep you busy for a while. Feist writes lots of short books and Goodkind writes a few long ones, like Jordan.

Iain Banks. Fiction or Sci-Fi, both genres are absolutely excellent.

Try Espedair Street for fiction, or Consider Phlebas for sci-fi. You will not be disappointed.

Also, 'Carrion Comfort' by Dan Simmons is an astoundingly good book, its basically about an elite group of people who have the ability to control other humans with nothing but their minds.

Its absolutely brilliant, the plot is amazing.

hmmm... maybe michael moorecock's hawkmoon? Wheel of Time was great though =o

I'd absolutely love to recommend James Herbert's Rats Trilogy (Rats, Lair and Domain... you can skip lair really; it's good but the first and third are better =3 ). Alas it's horror adventure rather than fantasy adventure <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Sci-fi:

"Ender's game" series by Orson Scott Card [from memory, i think that's it]
    "Footfall" by Niven & Pournelle
"Battlefield Earth" by L. Ron Hubbard

Other books [i dont know enough books to bother classifying each of them]:

    "Dune" series by Frank Herbert
"The Blue Nowhere" By Jeffrey Deaver [and pretty much any other book by this guy]

Then get most Tom Clancy books, and all of Dan Brown's books

Yes, most/all of these books are easy reading, but i'm guessing some other people are going to be checking out this thread for some books to read.

Also, I read "magician" by Raymond E. Feist, but I couldn't get into the second.. it seemed boring?

Edit: edited author of ender's game series.. right you are pjofsky

    Orson Scott Card*

Make sure to read the sequels, too, Speaker For the Dead, Xenocide, and Children of the Mind.

Additionally, The Firm by John Grisham (I think) ftw.

Well, as WoT is not over yet (as book 11 is not released, and there needs to be atleast book 11, posibly 12 to actualy end the series), I would suggest the rest of those <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

There is also a prolouge that is the story of Moraine Sedai and Lan (pardon spelling, havn't read anytihng in a while)

People have listed some good things:
    Terry Goodkind
    Ramond E Faust
Heinlien, specificly Stranger in a Strang Land, Starship Troopers. You could also try his other books though many people don't like them (I do) like Friday.

*Starts looking around room for discarded books*
Juliet E. McKenna's Einarinn serries (Thief's Gamble, Swordsman's Oath and the rest of em)
The Harry Potter Series if you have not already
Daniel Hood's Familiar Dragon Series (and then you will know where Redford got his name <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->)
Anne McCaffrey's Pern books (alot of her other stuff sorta sucks)
Kate Elliott's Crown Of Stars series (starts with King's Dragons, Prince of Dogs.
Alan Dean Foster's Journeys of the Catechist (wondefuly amusing book)

Ok, well those are all the books that I can reach from where I am sitting <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Dan Simmons Hyperion, and Dan Simmons Ilium. Ilium is...wow. Not only is it awesome, it's the size of a large text-book. Hyperion is like...my all-time favourite book, too. And if you haven't read it, 1984 of course.
