Hmm something is actually cutting all of the brushes along the edge of the shadow it seems... Hint brushes?
[edit] Also be sure to check it with both onos and other classes. Once you think you have fixed it while walking arround as skulk/lerk/gorge/fade/marine it is entirely possible that its still not fixed for the onos. They seem to be two entirely seperate clip hulls. Seems logical and all <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" /> Also the other way arround is very much possible --> fixed for onos but not for other classes...

Nice observation. I didn't think anything about it. I'm trying a hint brush there.
Cheers, ~ DarkATi
EDIT: Also, interesting find here, these invisible walls only occur when I compile the entire map. When I cordon off certain sections, they aren't there. Maybe I'm just like really close to a limit somewhere??

Thats actually very similar to Achio, I can compile areas without any problem in terms of clip hulls. Yet if I compile the entire map I get the weird clip hulls.
Actually what I did was see where some weird rectangles appeared on the minimap and build arround them as much as I could, beta 3/4 have been fixed beta 1 and 2 both had problems. It had clip hull problems all over the place at port generator, both for Onos and other classes.
Check both minimaps to see what I did:
<a href="http://members.home.nl/m.borgman/ns-forum/ns_achio2/officialscreenshots/minimap_v2b2.jpg" target="_blank">beta2</a> (huge invisible walls inside port generator and the west hallway of port generator) <a href="http://members.home.nl/m.borgman/ns-forum/ns_achio2/officialscreenshots/minimap_v2b4.jpg" target="_blank">beta4</a> (the vent south of port generator is built along the edge of the weird clip hull)
Fact is I had to shift the entire hive area to be able to fix 95% of the problems. Now there is only a building sinking bug in the hallway west of port generator. I fixed that with a func_nobuild, its area is small enough to not be a problem and its also infested so there is a reason for the nobuild <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
[edit] I've been going over some older screenshots. I must say this map is very detailed, props on that!

Sadly the map won't be nearly as detailed as many of the screenshots show. I had to reduce alot of it just to get it to compile.
And I notice that you didn't say "Cheers" this time, wonder why?...
That really, really sucks. I mean really sucks. I guess I could compile it for ya if you want to send it to me, I have a power comp at home that could easily handle it even if it does take a while...
It turns your ... computer off ... that really sux ...
Thats the weirdest peice of pai I've ever encountered... it does this as well on other computers? It still might be hardware/virus/spyware related y'know <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />
post your compile log, theres a good chance we can find something.
Nexus is 8000 brushes, almost 100% clips. It compiles. It didnt for a long time, but that was because of a slew of problems, which i've now been through. We can help <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />
If it turns your computer off it is highly probalbe that you pc cant handle the heat, i had that too, but it was in a hot summer <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" /> Check your cooler, it might be covered with dust or damaged. Once I had a not working copier because a sheet of paper was stuck right in front of the venilation openings for the device. If its not the heat i could only think of a leak or outdated compiling tools...

I'm still waiting for this sexy map to be released >.> Maps like these make me want to update my linux box so i can host a NS server and just put these maps up here. Playing the few amount of offical NS maps everyday gets kinda boring sometimes :/
Try this test for overheating: open up your case and get an external fan blowing air onto it while you compile. If your map compiles for longer before your computer resets (even if it's only a few minutes), then it's probably overheating.
Ive come to realize that the last thing you want to do is actually remove from the map. I did that for three months until i realized the underlying problem, fixed it, then spent another month addnig all that detail back in.
You could even send it to one of us to try and compile.
I have had problems with maps not loading up if too many WAD files are associated with it. Go into your .map in notepad and remove some if you think you might have too much, and then try loading it in hammer & compiling.
I'm sorry but life has gotten itself in the way. I haven't been working on the map and I'm leaving for a summer job on May 20th, then I'm starting college in the fall.
You'll get your Vargus... you just might get NS2 first.
seemed like it was damn near complete from the top-down overview shots.
Pass it over to someone on these forums. Let him try to fix up the errors, and possibly even fix up the pieces of the map that still need to be created (you could make a list), and have him send it to you for approval before release. No point leaving so much work just.. sitting on your hard drive.
Do what I do. Put 2 generic corridors in, call it beta 1 and never touch it again til you can be bothered <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
UPDATE: Yes, Cody has a life now. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />
I'm staffing at a summer camp until the beginning of August and then I start college. Will this map ever be playable? I don't know. I hope so. I just have to find the time to get it done. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/marine.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::marine::" border="0" alt="marine.gif" />

Yes because Picasso let other people finish off his artwork when he needed to.
Whenever you get the time to buff, polish, construct, compile and send it to the world DarkATi let the NS forums be the first to know <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />
EDIT: For the benefit of StixNStonz that was sarcasm.
Looks like it might be missing some vents, and perhaps still need some small touch ups, but its built. The official map pack is in the works, and with Dark's summer camp (so he'll be gone entirely), and then college (debatable, i did Nexus in my 4th year of uni, but a lot of people do a lot more work than I), it sounds like this is a delay of easily half a year. NS might even be dead by then <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />.
The offer is there. If he were to entrust me with his map, i'd make sure he told me exactly what needed to be fixed, and how he wants it fixed. In no way would i make this map my own, since i would only have worked on it for the last 0.1% of its build life.
When Nexus was hitting all the snags for the final 4 months before i finally released the first version, i was constantly under the worry that it would never actually get finished. It was terrifying. Working on something for so long, and being so excited about finally getting to play it... and knowing the very real possibility of it all being a waste.
So yeah, if Picasso was on his deathbed and his masterpiece was pretty much done but unreleased, i'm sure he'd let a friend mount it, frame it and bring it to the world.

Compiling isn't the trouble, finding time to build it is.
And as far as 'nearly' built goes the blue circle indicates possibly finishing/building area while the red is neccessary in order to make the map playable. You also have to account for polishing the layout yet etc. too. But the basics is the whole right hand side of the map needs to be built. (image below)
