I can reskin good and make good metal textures, but I always get confused when i get to the blank maps, cause all i see is cylinders and boxes streched everywhere o.O

well... we are still on the discussion of the polys... i'm going to be at 2k poly's without hands, so we need to decide if i should lose the beveled edges on most of the gun... i mean, i think i could get down to around 1200 polys but not much lower and it would be quite flat looking without the bevels.

Polys dont effect fps THAT much untill you get to the 7k range. Plus if your computer cant run half-life right, i think its time for a new one. Go for uber high poly ftw!
organic style meshsmoothed with 3 itterations it is.
i'll do 2 models -- first will be the current one, with about a 2 to 2.5k limit on polys, 2 to 3 sided model, second version will have some ever so slight changes, no beveled edges, and <1k polys hopefully.
to re-itterate, this is a 4-sided model, not 6. meaning, nothing is completely enclosed. It has top, left, bottom, and back. right side and fronts were not modeled (mostly) in order to save poly's.
the model will probably need to be resized, but that shouldn't be hard for whoever to do.
btw-- for whoever is skinning -- i have the model saved prior to attaching everything, so if it will make your life easies to UVW unwrap, let me know.

ok, well, here is the deal, the automatic unwrapping in max comes out scattered and im not great at unwrapping, so if you know someone who can unwrap, they will probably do better, i'll give you the 3ds while i work on learning to unwrap better

** i decided to remove some polys to ease the unwrapping and drop about 100 polys off.
