As long as a hive is left to 'live', other hives will come 'on-line' as time passes, and with each surviving hive, the aliens will continue to get points. Again, even if the marines managed to sit on a hive, keeping it alive but killing spawning aliens, yes, they would get point bonuses, but the only way for the marine team to win is to destroy all the hives (in the current gameplay scenario). So all spawn camping would accomplish is to drag the game out. I'm pretty sure that if marines were doing this, the alien players would simply wait to respawn elsewhere, team up, and charge the guarded hive. Also, the spawn points around each hive are spread out enough that it would be VERY hard to stay alive very long as a marine player if you tried this tactic. Something would frequently spawn behind you. Mappers can help with this too by their positioning of the spawn locations (which are chosen at random from all those within a specified radius of the hive and do not have to be in the same room or space).
And if the reverse happens, ie. the aliens gain control of the marine's respawn room but keep the commander console intact, the marines would eventually run out of RP's to respawn with, which would give the aliens no choice other than to either sit there or destroy the commmand console, ending the game.

In my opinion, any team who allows the enemy to put them into such a compromised position either A) As the ALiens, lacks the aggregate skill, and so deserves the punishment. And B) As the Marines, has poor teamwork or strategy. I like to think of it as the virtual equivalent of a Spanking.
Lotis: I'm not sure. I would think that the game would end shortly thereafter, if not right after the last hive was destroyed. No remaining hives means that the aliens can't respawn via the hive areas anymore (they may still be able to respawn through eggs placed by the builder alien elsewhere). I would hope that a marine team win would not depend on eliminating every last alien after the hives were destroyed, since a small alien could very easily hide indefinitely.
Not if hes a horrible llama evil man who goes up in there and laughs. When a llama sets his mind to starting crap, the crap starts a flying. If hes entertained by the fact that hes messing up the whole gameplay than hes gona continue
I never thought of that... well there could be a marine tech that flushes out vents and such. It would only be available if all the hives are destroyed. That sounds like a good idea to me, but im accused of being incoherent lol.
My first real contibution... but I was thinking maybe the flame thrower would do it too once they got that tech

Course, human nature makes these kinds of situations unavoidable. If we put in a sooper dooper, clean the vents tech, some commanders might sprint right towards that tech and then eliminate beautiful bob-ishness for the round. However, I think someone mentioned that it might require that all the hives be destroyed first. I agree. I also don't think that the guys fellow aliens would appreciate the delay until the next round. A shiny little vote kick option (expelling him from the hive mind) would be tasty.
