<div class="IPBDescription">OMG MORE COLOR!11</div> I made this simple jetpack sprite that I believe came out pretty well. The basic design is from Tribes Vengeance. Tell me what you think. Enjoy!

Say, could you possibly make the "empty" sprite (the frame that has just the blue bars), have the bar area blank? I tried that, but it's giving me some wierd palette consistency errors when I try to compile. I attached an example of what I mean.

Took 30 seconds total, here it is with the empty background.

Btw, the problem you had is due to how you made it empty. You need to use the eyedrop to grab the black, color it in and just hit save

Nah, it's due to how I exported. When you export with Sprite Explorer, it automatically saves it as a 24-bit .bmp. When I tried to remake the palettes, .sprwiz didn't like it. Thanks for helping me out, though! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Next time you export in spr explorer, use sequence > export to .qc . That way they are in the right bit depth. (total decompile of sprite as opposed to just extracting a frame)

A quick job, but the palette isn't so great. If you compare the original with the edited one, you'll notice that the new gauge jumps from red, to yellow, and then to green. The coloring isn't smooth anymore like in the original.

The attached file below retains the colors from the original, and also includes the source bitmaps.

<!--QuoteBegin-TheGuy+Sep 11 2004, 12:37 PM--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> (TheGuy @ Sep 11 2004, 12:37 PM)</td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Next time you export in spr explorer, use sequence > export to .qc . But the palette it generates is still different from the ones originally used by the sprites (which is probably the reason why the edited sprite lost the colors).

Sprite Explorer is pretty bad at extracting bitmaps, I would suggest using Sprite Viewer instead.

Strangely enough, Verthandi, your the sprites have a 6-color gradient instead of the smooth blending. They looked fine in sprview, but when I booted up NS they changed. I should have taken a screenshot, but it's not that hard to imagine.

I've compared the original and my edited version, and every single bar has the same colors in the same positions. The gradient quality should be nearly identical to the original.

Nice. Thats what I like about sprites, they can be done quickly, and still look good. I love Tribes (any Tribes) and this looks really cool.

I'll have to look through my .cfgs, then. I've probably got some wierd mode running.
