Before v1 was released and before the classes were given names, the community made their own up. Moleculor named the skulk "Bob" back then. It caught on and everyone called it that until the real names got announced. There were names for all the other classes too, like Tiny for the Onos, however Bob seemed to become the most famous.

1.0x, would have to be Skulls, Gorgs, and Lurkers.. and the birth of the 'Oh, CRAP!' or 'Three hives! THREE HIVES!' (onos). Not to mention 'damn cheap-*** hovering HMGers of dewm' (JP/HMG Marines).
2.0x had... not much.
3.0 is still to be seen, given that it's not released yet. So far, my favorites are 'knifedogs', 'fatty', 'batty', 'samurai jesus', and either 'bullet magnet' or 'battlecow'.
