!!!!!!!!!
I have found a temporary metamod fix for beta 5 while we wait for an official version. Yes, there is the All-Mod-Support but that seems to botch some plugins.

NB: If you want to keep NS beta 4a back it up now!

OK, copy your NS directory and rename it to NSP (yes, still keep the NS directory.)

Install metamod into the NS directory.
Because metamod loads from NSP, it will load the copy of beta 5 from the NSP directory.

This is temporary!

Now, im off to remove spyware from my internet explorer!

That its not the problem with metamod and NS 3.0 beta 5.

The problem is (generalized) the fact that Metamod requires a static list of entities compiled into it, but NS created a new entity (item_ammopack iirc), which Metamod did not have in it's list. So when NS attempts to create this entity, metamod doesn't let it. NS expects it's created and attempts to work off of it's pointer == crash.

Either recompiling metamod with that entity added into it's list, or using Hullu's patched metamods are the only solutions if you want a metamod server. Devicenull built a windows build of metamod, but the url escapes me. Hullu's version is available here. And folks, if hullu's version does indeed give you problems submit it to his forums. He's very very good with support.
