Hive Viewable By Commander

In beta6 of ns_marineris, some of the hives are viewable by the commander when there are no marines around for some odd reason. This is not good, heh. I think this was a problem in ns_hera but it got fixed in beta5. I have tried searching but nothing came up. Anyone know what exactly causes this?

I think it might have to do with the height of the rooms and/or because the map crosses into both positive and negative z-axis. I shifted the entire map down in the z-axis so that it doesn't cross into positive and now theres no problem. However it might be something entirely different because I also changed the map quite a bit.

    In the case of Hera, it was because the commander would 'fly' inside the room, and so could driectly see the contents first-hand. The commander must always remain outside of the map.

    In some cases you could get away with having the commander go inside the map, but only if there is nothing of huge strategic importance in view when he does, eg, the inside of a vent, but even then it's not reccomended..

    Ah i see, when i shifted the map down, i didn't change the commander viewing height and so now the commander was out of the room. Is there a workaround for this or will I just have to keep that viewing height/make the room lower?

    No workaround - if the commander is inside the map, whatever is within the area will be drawn.

    Aww, thats disappointing, although... it would be cool there was a way to configure the commander height on a per room basis, but i'm guessing that would a bit hard to implement.

    Well it is surely a nice idea, but then again, imagine sitting the commchair and contantly zooming in or out depending what room you are looking at.
    Not sure it it wouldn't be more annoying instead of helping <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
    Other than that, it might be interesting to be able to set values for minimum and maximum viewheight for example within the info_locations and then being able to zoom in/out within that defined range and area. And for all others without defined viewheight you would have one preset setting.
    would be really nice <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
