Hera: Just Doesnt Seem Right

what do you guys think?
I finished playing hera a few times today. I have not played it long enough to decide how well balanced it is, but I will tell you it has seemed to have lost its soul. Hera just doesn't seem or play like hera with one node in holo. Since 1.04, Hera has changed a lot. However, to me, it has always seemed to keep its flavor, or playstyle. Now that Holo is no longer a double res, it feels like an entire different map. Maybe I'm just not used to it, but does anyone agree with me?

You might be right about the double node, but i like the layout changes personally.

the holoroom double node was the worst thing in hera, and there was no better way to balance the map than removing and replacing that node.

i like the other changes, too, although that walkway in ventilation is just ... odd. the old one (with grating instead of the solid grey floor) was better imo, but i understand why it was changed (entity counts?).

oh yeah 1 more thing: the water in dcd is like 1 unit thick. it could be a little deeper, even if just so much that it really feels like theres water on the floor there :x

I'm a bit "Dubya Tee Eff Mate" about the Cavity node - was that necessary? Its an easily defendable Alien node on whats not exactly an Alien unfriendly map. It just seems odd to have it there, adding so much value to Data/Archiving Hives.

I guess what bothers me most about the Cavity node is that its now the strongest relocation spot by a huge margin, and that Hera still has too many nodes.

1.04 hera was the best. Although this version isnt bad.

And im extremly dubya tee eff have they done to bast.

My god, take a perfectly good map, and flush it through a sewage treatment plant.

take your useless bast bashing to the appropriate thread, youll receive no sympathy anywhere else.

IT HAD ISSUES, GOT IT? ffs, why cant people just realise that a map thats been unchanged since 1.0 could POSSIBLY not be suitable for 3.0b5 gameplay? have you even played the map since 2.01?

tell me honestly that the old bast was a perfectly fine map and ill be happy to point out, say, 10 obvious and critical gameplay flaws, right now. actually make it 20.

The original pre 1.0 hera didn't have a double node in holoroom. So really, it's come back to its soul after all this time, instead of losing its soul.

12 nodes, and you want 13 nodes or what ?

Hera can be a cool 16vs16 map, that's all...

More like its reverting to its fetal state instead of the fully develloped map which the dev team birthed.

Its a premature soul. Its not worthy.

I agree, EXCEPT for the double siege. The open marine start was a bad idea, but I liked the rest of the map. Maybe MS could have done a redo because of the difficultly accessible CC.
