User Interface Changes

<div class="IPBDescription">Undocumented ones</div> I've been playing B5 for two days now and I'm starting to feel very uncomfotable with the User interface. None of my binds have changed, and my sensitivity is where it should be, but the game feels completely alien to me. I'm ok when playing Marine, but when I'm playing alien I have severe problems with leap/biting and blink/slashing. I do not and have never used scripts for these actions, but I feel like someone must have incorporated some penalty, because I cannot execute the moves with half the efficiency I could in B4.
here are some things I've noticed.
With fastswitch enabled, if you select an alien ability that you cannot use yet (for example picking slot 3, bile bomb, with only 1 hive) it no longer behaves as it has in the past. Instead of switching to bile bomb or metabolize or stomp but not allowing you to fire, it doesn't switch at all.
I find this VERY annoying. When I'm a fade, I use metabolize as a "clutch" for blinking. I slip it into metabolize when I'm coasting through the air, and when I get the second hive ability to metabolize, I use it in mid air to regenerate in the middle of combat. I spent a long time developing these twitch abilities, and I feel this change is very detrimental to them.
I've also noticed that picking weapon slots has a delay, or doesn't "cue" actions. For example I can pick blink, then pick swipe and click, but if I click too fast, it doesn't swipe. Likewise if I switch to swipe too fast, it doesn't even change and stays in blink mode. Again, it sounds minor, but these things are completely crippling me in my ability to leap and bite or blink and swipe.
Am I the only person noticing these changes?

To be honest, I was always confused why fastswitch never worked when cycling weapons backwards... at least for me, it didn't. I have that assigned to kp_end, and it cycles but never fastswitches for some strange reason. Switching forwards works, though. Anyone have any idea why this is?
This is highly irritating.
voogru put this on his servers a while ago as a mod to 'prevent scripting'
i guess he decided it should be put into the game for everyone
That's something that I did tweak, because playing with default cmdrate, updaterate, and rate is ridiculous.

eh? what are these things?
Also the thing about not being able to select alien weapons you don't have yet is annoying too... did anyone ask for this?

commands used to change the speed(rate) at which packets of information are sent/recieved and general connectivity are based off of. Think of manipulating these variables to create lag/ smooth gameplay.
