For LMG.
Think of it; if you're a Halo fan you know that Halo 2's SMG is almost exactly the same as the NS LMG. So, I humbly request someone somewhere to make the H2 SMG for NS as I have no modelling skills myself.

wot where bungie thinking !
i hate bumpmapping, everything looks like made of playdo...and i hate halo 2 for its crappy designs..the first one was more original with its weapon concepts,it was the thing that made halo unique, the original designs. now they are scifictioned versions of present weapons... on the sniperrifle, a almost exact replica of the mechem NTW-20.. they just replaced the scope with a more scifi one..i call that lack of inspiration, and clear focus to fast and cheap commercialisation without much effort..the weapondesigner of halo 2 should be beaten to death with a wet towel. you can clearly see a M$ product in it.. after M$ buyed bungee, halo went down the hill, and M$ started to roll the hype promo drum for all those console kiddos. ..... and there are no nanites in halo2
i mean...look at it without texture and bumpmap, how much is modelled on that gun? theres nothing really amazing on it.. it looks like a pathetic attempt of a 3ds beginner, who knows theres is something called bumpmapping, its teh photoshop modelling h4x
its M$
they did overdo the bumpmapping a little
Like in HL2 all the modders are making SUPER high poly stuff ...when the models arnt really that high at all probly mostly bumpmapping
This model in NS would ease the pain.

not the hate for microsoft..just the hate for cheaply done designs, and nearly no effort in modelling...
and M$ havent saved Bungie from bankrupty...
M$ gorges everything that is a monney machine
Sure, it is a relatively low poly thing, and the bump mapping isn't done well- but saying that is to save time is ****. Bump mapping takes so much longer than regular modelling its not even funny. You've gotta hand-paint the entire bump map, then you gotta texture that bump map(so if there is lets say some cloth, it will have all of those jutted lines, instead of just leaving the texture to do that), then you gotta debug it and remove and redo points in the bump map, and thats just for a first version! Bump mapping a single model- let alone a whole damned game of 'em with over 1,000 models(yes, Halo 2 has over 1,000 models)- takes a minimum of 15+ hours, unless you are gonna do it REALLY badly. And thats only for average looking bump maps. The high-quality bump maps usually take 20-25 hours to complete. And don't even get me started about normal mapping(which sadly, I don't think Halo 2 has).
Get your facts straight

my facts?
ive done bumpmappings in high res renders myself, and ive switched lately to displacement mapping, because bumps suck... i know how "hard" it is.. its not harder than texturing..i do my bumpmaps in the same process as texturing on a seperate layer,(theres even a photoshop plugin to the uv mapping tool, that refreshes the modified texture on its model 3d view, so you actually can see your changes in realtime) and split them after that. if you have to mess around 20 hours for a detailless texture that is not even 2400x2400 in resolution you definitly use the wrong texturing tools and uvmapper
so get your facts straight
i'm with her.
[ON topic] i dont like the front of it plus it would be pretty bare without the bumpmapping but its got a nice shape
Go to the discussion forum if u wish to criticise the halo2 smg.
And you're not encouraging ANYONE to actually model it, neither do you model it.
Instead of whining like a baby over a crappy bumpmapped model for a Halo2, try modeling it better instead.
And perhaps make that guy, and alot of us aswell happy.
Instead of ruining the thread, please?
I really like that gun, i'd love to see it NS.
id give it a go, but im really not in the mood for modeling, and it would probably not end up good anyway hehe.
I really hope someone decides to model this one.
gooood night im sleepy

oh oh.... you didn't see her past work, did you?

Indeed. People, less whiny-whiny more worky-worky please. I want to see who can make a version of this gun that puts Bungie to shame.
I don't really like this gun for aesthetics, but the compact design with the folding foregrip and collapsible stock look pretty cool to me. Also, the magazine on the final weapon is opaque.
