<a href='http://www.lucasarts.com/games/swbattlefront/' target='_blank'>Battlefront</a> is <i>not</i> <a href='http://www.lucasarts.com/games/swrepubliccommando/' target='_blank'>Republic Commando</a>.
Battlefront is Battlefield 1942/Vietnam in Star Wars. Just like the other two games, you have two large teams, each team gets credits for respawns, you capture command points, you can play as different classes, and you have vehicles. The only addition I've noticed is "hero characters" like Darth Vader fighting in the match.
By contrast, Republic Commando is squad based [read: me want. Now.] From the preview videos I've seen it will have multiplayer, but not likely on the scale of Battlefront.
Check the date, it went gold before the 6th. It's been in stores for a couple days, we're just not allowed to sell or display it yet.

Imperial team players choosing player class have the option of the Dark Trooper, making it only the 2nd game ever to have Dark Troopers. From the looks of it they aren't anywhere near their "real" counterparts from Dark Forces 1: they have the external looks of a Phase II dark trooper, but their weaponry isn't nearly as good and I'd assume their jump jets operate differently.

Phase I pwns all. They were invulnerable to laser blast. I remember having to nade and mine them.
A <a href='http://www.ut2004troopers.com/' target='_blank'>trooper</a> stopped by to say hello today, I liked the look of his armour.

Hee, nice try. Star Wars: Rebellion also had Dark Troopers. Phase II troopers did have the blast cannon described on the website, and who's to say that their jetpacks weren't altered before they were rolled out on an even larger scale? Besides, we don't even know how their jets work, and they might not look like the ones from Dark Forces, but they do look like the ones from Rebellion and Dark Forces was hampered by the fact that it looked like Doom, so we didn't exactly get pixel perfect graphics fidelity there.
...Not really now that you mention it. The tie fighters and x-wings fly nicely but all the battles are planet based. Maybe cloud city..... that might be a little bit more of what your looking for but still lack of outerspace doesnt detract from the game at all. I rather be flying under a sky with a huge planet above, or with rain and lightening.
