umm when i use hlmv for example i load the onos. when i goto sequences i see that it has an animation for its alienability_1 ? but i dont see this in game nor on some other aliens. could some1 tell me why?
It had to be done for aliens because they have 4 legs, which would have come into conflict with teh way HL blends walking/shooting animations. (IMHO <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> )
HL uses biped models that have clearly defined upper and lower torsos.
Since most aliens lack clearly defined upper and lower torsos, none of their animations work as intended.
One solution would be to make biped aliens. Another solution is to cheat... the skulk for instance can be given a moving mouth since its head is effectively treated as the upper body. Although that makes for pretty limited animation.
