And so is my work.
I'll be taking my leave from the NS community. I don't play the mod as much anymore, and none of my models have been meshed or skinned, let alone animated. Should someone decide to mesh and skin my Ga33 rifle, just pm me, and I'll send you what you need. But it would be my first, and last project for NS.
Cheers.
Cheers.

its good to keep trying.
no need to leave
there are some nice chaps here, and slim, you were one of them. you shall be missed.
but i'm not leaving
meshing is just a nasty process, i think i speak for everybody when i say it sucks and nobody likes to do it
i'm not leaving for another reason, it's fun here, and it's not only about your own models but also to check out other peoples work and help here and there
Hmmz, you got a good point tho when you say you don't play NS not often anymore, but still, you could just 'hang around' here
Exacly. Just like me, when i post here, most of the time i don't get that much of attention, i also don't beg people to waste time for me, i sat down one day, and learned skinning and meshiong by my on. I'm progressing very nice, and so should you, but it depends of your priorities, if you really want it, people will guide you to the right direction of where to start.

skin and mesh-fixes to come...
Good point,Anyways I Think goodbyes thread are pointless this is the most pointless one I've seen.
Not skinning or meshing his models may be some part of it, but I gather his primary reason for taking his leave is, as he mentioned, he isn't playing the game much anymore, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Take it easy slim-

hm... iirc just 1 or 2 of Burn's great models have been done or even meshed... and he did A LOT of (really good) models
so despite my natural tendancies to continue ranting on in another paragraph or two after stating an opinion, or involving other forum members, I shall leave it at that, and even though I don't agree with making a thread for "leaving" I wish you the best at whatever you end up doing...
I took the time to check out the NS hands and their bones, and to be honest, It discouraged me, the bones look incredibly messy.
And your right, I shouldn't give up. The Ga33 is my best model. I can't do much better than that.
Since I am not going to college till january, I dont have much time on my hands. I've been working 50 hour weeks as of late, finishing sometimes at 12am. I am tired, and in the little off-time I get I prefer to rest and watch T.V.
The Natural-Selection community isn't the best, but It's still amazing as to how a popular mod can have a good community.
As for me learning to mesh, its very possible, but I use Maya, and a mesh isnt exported to OBJ, as far as I know. As for skinning, well, my artistic skills are total ****, and I mean total ****. So **** that.
Animating is also a possibility, but again, exporting a model to OBJ has huge complications with Animations. Very rarely to any bones transfer correctly from Maya to Milkshape.

but anyway gbye may the force be with you jung padawan
and the UVW MAP (NOT CALLED "MESH") IS exported with .obj format, in fact .obj is my favorite format for transferring data from one program to another, and I use a bunch of programs, and some of the stuff I've done should be proof enough that it works, I use DeepExploration, DeepUV, LithunWrap, Milkshape, and of coarse some times I take models exported from 3dmax, in .obj format,
and again on animations, you can just do it in Milkshape you know right? I even wrote a tutorial on it if you think you would like to try, http://www.nsarmslab.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1557 (originally written for the FireArms mod community so excuse some errors)
and as for the UVW map, just grab lithunwrap, its free, and it works, you just need to get used to it, check around for tutorials on it...
Finally I suggest exporting externally from MilkShape, as if it wasn't obvious enough already, it's a much better idea to use Krastitos compiler outside of Milkshape to compile you're .qc files, and in fact its easier cuz all you gotta do is double click your .qc file (also do research on .qc files to help you with later problems)
