How To Set A Specific Waypoint?

res1ijsres1ijs Join Date: 2004-02-05 Member: 26097Members
Although I'm no newbie, I have noticed that bots can only do their magic when you use specific waypoints like build structure here or pick up item at waypoint... I was just wondering how to activate that as it is completely random to me when I'm comm.

Thanks! <!--emo&::marine::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/marine.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='marine.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    It's based on what you click on, but very buggy.

    There's an AMX plugin that fixes this though. Google. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> "waypointsfix.sma" is the source file. (.amx for compiled, if there's an available download, which there may be.)

    Editted to include link to AMX version:
    <a href='http://www.modns.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=521' target='_blank'>http://www.modns.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=521</a>

    (Couldn't find it earlier. Soz. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->)

    That is the metamod version, but the amx one can be found on the same site, under the amx section, if you need it.

    They could fix the waypoints officially, though... Hehehe "Fix the waypoints" will go into my next sig if it isn't fixed for beta 5 <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    I think commanders should be able to bind keys to vaious waypoint types.

    It came automatic when it actually worked, it would just matter what you'd click on. However, the announcer guy will say the last command and display the current command. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Hi,

    to agentx5:
    I think that when you give the commander the possiblility to use bound keys to assign a waypoint this can lead to abuse. The commander can intentionally give a wrong waypoint to screw with you. For instance say there is an enemy at waypoint when there isn't.
    I know that it would be neat to be able to assign the various waypoints yourself ... but as I told it could lead to abuse.

    It would be better to improve the current system in the same way the pluggin (you can find it in <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=70782&hl=waypoint' target='_blank'>this</a> thread) does it.

    Just my vision.

    Greetz,
