I'm praying it'll be good. Hopefully it'll be like Dungeon Keeper 2 only all modern and shiny.

He didn't beat me. However, I'm too lazy to actually POST the news, so yeah, he DID beat me. It just wasn't a race.

My installer is broken; it's having problems with an audio file. I'll download another and hope it works.

    Installer!

I can't find one, read ONE, download place that works and that doesn't make you wait in line. Urp!

Edit: And I don't trust the one in the first post because it's the exe, so it might be the one that didn't work for me. I'm trying it though.

How can you tell that it's that funny? Have you played it?

If it really is as good as Dungeon Keeper 2, I might be out 20 bucks. In a few years from now when it costs that much.

Meh I don't care, as long as I can have something like electrified acid spitting sharks with laser beams on their heads. Or something equally outrageous. Possibly involving flamethrowers and nuclear radiation.... hrm...

Sadly the demo hardly lets you do anything. The biggest let-down is that you can't even make traps! I wan't meh pit of dewm!

What I don't quite understand is how you can get by just fine with 57 random nation's soldiers in your base, but if they see a dead body or a guard with a gun they freak out and kill your poor defenceless henchmen. Or rather, your henchmen bum rush them, but the principe is the same.

So this raises the question.... what is the point in stand-down/yellow alert? In stand down mode your guards have no guns, which reduces their effectiveness drastically. In yellow alert mode they HAVE guns, which will cause enemy soldiers to flip out and start shooting, which is not a good thing.

I also found out the hard way that you CAN'T just keep killing everyone that walks through the door; sooner or later the freezers get full......

Also, WHY WONT YOU STAY WHERE I PUT YOU HENCHMEN, WHY?

Still, looks very promising despite the.... limited demo. Interrogations are funny, for some reason performing Michael Jackson moves is considered a form of torture; I did laugh out loud when the guard said "SHAMONE!"

    *edit* RAMPANT MIS-SPELLINGS!

its quite a fun game but the demo is quite limiting i found my tiny base being overrun by hostiles every seconed! in the end i trained everyone to be gaurds and for some reason my armory exploded and cought fire so i just quit right there

aw, Nil beat me to the michael jackson interrogations that was my biggest crack-up too. it's rough around the edges but pretty fun... sorta a cross between Dungeon Keeper and Theme Hospital...
  • Dorian_GrayDorian_Gray Join Date: 2004-02-15 Member: 26581Members, Constellation
I never had problems with infiltrations... once I figured out which colour guys were mine and which werent. They all lined up at the door and I put kill tags on them and 20 armed guards and 30 armed minions rushed them

And WHY OH WHY do the guards KEEP EVERY BODY in a freakin FREEZER?!?!?! My hallways were littered with bodies, I built more and more freezers with racks, but the bodies just kept piling up. Actually, the problem is that they wouldn't pile up. One body per tile. Just stack that damn things, if you insist on keeping them, you stupid minions...

That was pretty awesome. Once I got everything down it was pretty cool, though some lair-buiding in peace ala My Pet Dungeon would've been nice. 'Course its only a demo.

Oh, and rooms exploding into flames were kinda confusing for me too until i saw a ninja planting little bricks of C-4. It made me go "noooo" until I got the guards that carry around big friggen machine guns, then invaders weren't really a big problem.

Build an interrogation chair. You also need a chamber to hold him in while he awaits interrogation.

I think the demo is a misrepresentation of what the game is really like. It says in the glossary that you'll start out being raided by infiltrators, spies, and saboteurs and then the forces of good will attack with commandos. In this, it's commandos right off the bat, and lots of them. Plus you can't use traps or security cameras, and the commandos just bust right through your pathetic security doors. I think the real game would be a blast to play, just like Dungeon Keeper.

I will throw you in this easily-escapable trap composed of an unnecessarily slow-moving device and a lava pit.

Yeah except my evil device will have a DOOR to prevent escape, instead of a generic minion with the IQ of a fern

Who cares? Its a sim game where you are an evil genius plotting to take over the world. Really, what story does it need?

Not every game needs a dramatic and original storyline that rivals Dante's Inferno in sheer length...

I just played the demo, and I think its awesome. Took a bit to get the hang of things, but its very very fun. I'll definately be picking up the full version.
