    Very nice architecture for your first map. I do think it needs a few more trims (first screenshot, the floor on the upper level). One thing that's really bothering me about this map, however, is that lighting. It's really bland, and I could barely see any lightsources. Looks like you just stuck a light entity in the room because otherwise it would be pitch black, and then didn't give it any other thought. Remember that lighting can make or break a map. My suggestion to you is use texlights (try searching for that on the forums if you need a tutorial), use the env_gamma if you aren't already, and experiment with the RAD parameters (-dscale, -gamma, -fade, etc).

    Good luck <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Looks good, besides the lighting. The glass looks a little too opaque also, i'm not a fan of HL glass...

    It feels as though you have got some really good ideas for achitecture but it doesn't seemed to be structured at all and areas seem to be "left" rather than "finished"...I think the most obvious pic of this is 3rd pic...that pathway on the left (because of no trimming) looks like it is a box that is floating ...it's just perspective of the screenshot but because there is no trim it just looks weird..

    Keep punching away at the areas and try and be a bit more interesting with the lighting and it'll look really good <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Thanks Zor

    Hey, really nice looking map here! <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> It's cool how you have managed to make something different and interesting. Many interesting things like the individual sight to part of spaceship (I mean like in duke3D) and that brain/sun like sphere, what in the world is that? <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    I'm not going to mention the lighting as it would be completely repeating what brute_force said.

    I love the architecture, but you should pay more attention to texture alignment. By that I mean adding trim textures around doorways and I also see some textures that could be shifted a little (I'm sure you will notice the biggest errors if you take a quick look in your map ).

    In the picture below the one with "brain". I think that combining both high and low scaled textures gives pretty chaotic effect.

    I play tested this, as Im in the same clan <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->, yeah my comments would be the about the lighting, theres a bit in the map where theres no lighting at all. the worst thing is is thats where the crates are and where the door open button is. cant see that at all. might wanna put in a dim light, or one near the door open button. Anther thing which ive said is fix that vent steam. Smack your name on a floating scren somewhere also <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> - maybe over the CC Room?

    the architexture is great, but what's really keeping it back is the textures. (lighting can come later.) You really need to fix just about half the textures in this map - you have doorways cutting into textures everywhere. In marine start, there's a black line going around the wall and suddenly DOOR!
    In the 3rd shot you have a hexagonal ramp that's cutting some pipe system clean in half, and the ceiling of the ramp has circles in it that get sliced at the end. Also you have textures that either don't make sense or don't look good with architecture - you can see an example of both of these in the same place in the last shot where you have those upwards red arrows. Finally, you have high-res textures right next to low-res textures, which looks like crap. That last one is a problem that every mapper has to work with, so don't feel like I"m singling you out or anything. But the other ones you must fix.

    That looks very cool. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    one suggestion:
    Play some with lighting now. You don't want everything well lit so the skulks have places they can hide.

    Ok fella's ive been playing with the lighting and i think the map looks a little better then what it did before (more shadows etc). The texture issues im trying to correct but when you say some areas lacks trim what do u mean??? , Also any ideas on what i could add to the areas that are a little bland would be much appricated. And for all those wondering that "Brain" (lol i like the description) was ment to be a fusion core but i still need to add some particle effects to it (still learning how to use the particle system 2). Anyway i will post some more screen shots later when i get a compile that i think is better in terms of lighting etc.

    Thanks Zor

    also the w_polys in some places are a bit high (for the slower computers out there) 500+ is getting up there. otherwise it looks good besides the other things that were mentioned.

    OK fella's ive been tweaking the lighting (no real geometric changes atm) and here is what i managed to come up with

    NB the areas look alot better in game
