Game Problem

<div class="IPBDescription">Rise of Nations Thrones and Patriots</div> I seem to have a problem with this game but only on my laptop. Every time i play it, it crashes around 3-10 first minutes of the game. For some reason it doesnt affect the normal Rise of Nations, only the TaP. Ive looked through some of the support sites seen in ron's homesite, didnt help at all.

Laptop:
Athlon 64 3000+
512 DDR
Radeon 9600/9700 128MB with omega 4.6 cats

Other computer:
Athlon XP 1700+
512SDRAM
GForce 4 MX420 64MB with newest drivers

Have you tried updating all your drivers and even the game itself?

Does it say "Gathering Execption Data"?

Nope, it gives no error at all. Just freezes there, nothing else. Dunno whats causing it. For the parches, the TaP installes the latest version of RoN but TaP has no patches.

Well have you tried updating your video card/sound card/mobo drivers?

Nope, havent found new drivers for it. Only for the graph card, those omega drivers.

Have you tried using different gaphics settings? (resolution/quality)

I don't really know what it could be. Try completely uninstalling it (then deleting the folder afterwards) and reinstalling again. If that dosnt work, try microsoft support?

Different resolutions wont help, maybe its the omega drivers whats causing it, but dont think so. The weirdest thing is that normal RoN works real ok.

Do you have SP2 on your laptop?

SP2 is like hydrogen in your computer. Extremely unstable.

Nope, not even SP1... Speaking of which, maybe i should install that.

try installing sp2, it can fix a surprising amout of driver and hardware problems. (but can mess up some illegal stuff, and even some legit older games.)

Ok, problem fixed. It was the Omega drivers crashing it as i feared. Now i can play it all the time i want.
