Yes, once again...
this works in big servers only and when everyone agrees to rush.

everyone in aliens gorges. (1~2 skulk is fine or none the best) drop 3 mc in hive.
everyone gets adrenline
wait for everyone and head towards marine base, keep healing
in marine base, DROP AS MUCH OC AS POSSILE and KEEP healing

i have seen so much time it screws marines, even the best teams and clanners, as they all rush out for rts and failed to get back to base. and it works best when starting with AE35 of bast or cargo of nothing

    A gorge rush only works in two cases : 1.The marines are too stupid to drop a shotgun. 2. The comm is laughing too hard to be able to drop a shotgun.

    The shotgun is supposed to be your low-cost anti-building countermeasure. Thats why we have "shotgun rushes" and not "hmg rushes" on the hive, because HMGs deal half damage to structures.

    Even with a team of gorges healspraying, the shotgun can effectively destroy a gorgerush. one, two shotgun shells max will have a dead gorge, with or without healspray, not to mention you have about 3 shooting you (assuming that the comm spent starting res effectively and shouldn't have alot for shotguns.

    This was viable in 2.0 where healspray had a much larger radius, so you could snipe someone from healspray some 5 meteres away, yet heal your gorgebuddy at the same time.

    I tried to gorgerush several times in classic - it just didn't work.
    A few sgs and you're dead, then they rush your hive and you've lost.

    But it's funny in combat. Some time ago I got 7/9 people of my team to evolve to gorge. The marines were screwed, LMG is almost useless, you can heal the hive almost instantly and if you have some webgorges... >:).
    They couldn't kill us even with HA/JP and 4 GLs.

    I had this happen a long time ago as I was comming. I was like "It's a tower rush! Ah crap! What to do? What to do??"

    I ordered my marines to just go straight to their only RT and destroy it. Then I relocated next to that destroyed RT. I just went around capping nodes like normal till I could afford to siege it.

    They were out capping nodes, and I couldn't afford to drop comm chairs to distract the OC's.

    I've never seen this strategy win. But it sounds like it could kill a bunch of armory humpers.

    i just tried it a few days ago, and even though the other team was not experienced as the team we had BY A LOT, we still lost miserably once the sg was out. we just couldn't get the ocs up in time before they walked over us.

    This really relies on an OC keybind and hopeless rines.

    I've never seen this attempt when I play as healspray is not as effective anymore.

    thats why it only works in big servers
    in korea servers having 26 players 13vs13 games, highly skilled. everyone rushes for rts. and marines are always screwed up with gorges, when 1~2 gorges death are negegible. i see this happens almost-everyday

    exactly, it works well in 2.01 as an effective strategy under certain conditions.

    I think I've seen 10 gorge rushes or so in 3.0 when I was comming. All 10 were incredibly amusing, becuase in every instance I recycled base, had all my marines go to the hive, and I proceeded to relocate into the hive and shotgun it down while the entire alien team happily lamed marine start up. Marines can easily overcome a gorge rush, the only reason it ever works is an incompetent commander, or blatantly stupid marines, or some combination.

    I believe the effect of the gorgerush depends on how much res the commander has when he notices the gorges are heading for the base, and if he notices early or only when they are in front of the base-entrace already. On pubs of course it works rather often, if the alien team sticks together well.

    In general I won in gorgerush-matches several times, also lost a view times.
    60% / 40% I would say.

    When gorges come in, half of the team is out and the com has only money to drop like 2 SG's, rines often die of healspray already just after panicly fireing down 2 OC's that gave a bit of cover for the gorges, or while jumping over the OC's to get to the gorges... they need to get close, otherwise SG's don't do enough damage. But they die before they get a good shot on them.

    Relocating rines at hive when they notice base is lost, moving faster then the bunch of gorges, can be dangerous. But if a 2nd or 3rd RT is build on the way to the base, it's often not that bad. On the other hand, it will cut down the number of OCs to drop in the rines base when arriving there..

    i saw a fifteen gorge rush against marines on tanith.... problem was the marines kinda relocated to double and we only found this out on our way to ms. It was kinda hilarious watching the massacre of fifteen innocent gorges. End score : 15 dead gorges, 0 dead rines. Was a sad day

    A pure gorge rush is not very good, for 1 OCs do terrible damage, you're gonna need atleast 2 or 3 skulks to do some major damage, otherwise you're just gonna have a bunch of gorges sitting around doing nothing. 2. It leaves you very vunerable, marines do not die slowly without a CC, aliens die slowly without a Hive. If you add a lerk to defend the hive, then you might have something, also leave 1 skulk behind to get the weakened marines when they're concentrating on the hive, you might pull it off. All in all, gorge rushes are more of a comedic factor than a strategy.

    Gorges have had some considerable boosts, but I'd be wary of saying it guarantees a gorge rush success.

    Lets say that its a bit more viable than it was before.

    right now such rushes only work if you have a skulk defending the hive and a gorge capping nodes. Others rushing.

    Serious, this was a 1.04 thing. I did it a few times in 2.0 but it was alot harder.
