Yeh I had a program that came with my PC, basicaly it has a graphical equlizer that you could boot stuff, didnt sound too great but it might work.

I will edit this post if I can find a link.

    Edit: <a href='http://www.tucows.com/audio_volume_default.html' target='_blank'>might help</a>

Have you checked your advanced volume controls to see if the other lines (other than main volume) aren't too soft? Try Wave and/or Aux, see if they're low. Also, check to see if there's an program-based volume control for the DVD player.

you tried both the program's volume controll and windows?

have you tried another DVD just to double check that it is the DVD?

It's not just the DVD, I get the exact same problem. I've just learned to live with it.

Turn up master and wave volume to max, turn OFF everything else!
Turn up the volume slider on your dvd software.

Some questions if this doesn't help:
Which soundcard have you got? Or, if onboard, which sound chip.
Have you got some volume controll on your sound equipment? <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
