No Sound

Well I finally set up my new PC and got all of my games/virus/firewall suff and now I'm rockin' and ready to go. But I have one problem. I have NO sound at all. I have tried numerous things but nothing seems to work. I know my motherboard has onboard audio, and thats what I am trying to use. I have installed all of the drivers included with the mobo. There should be a little icon in my tray, but there isnt, which is telling me that there is no sound device detected. Someone please help, a new comp isnt any fun without any sound.

Check the bios sometimes you need to switch it on there.
