Some Maps, And Fps Problems.

Ugh, I look at some of the "new" maps, like metal and agora. They are nice maps, look fine.. but I can't really play them. I'm not sure if its a problem with the map, or some problem with my comp,. but it certain areas of the maps, I get around 7 fps. This pretty much makes the maps unplayeable to me.
I get good enough fps on the rest of those maps, and on all the other maps... 40-45fps, even in heavy combat. I'm starting to wonder whats wrong in those areas.. The new sewer hive, and main generator on agora, Cargo on.. I think metal. I really don't have a clue whats the problem. Its almost like the mappers didn't check those area's for good rspeeds.

Not everyone playing ns has a good computer, and it would be nice to have maps that were playable on most computers :/

I will have to say the same. I have problems with fps when I am around hives. The moment I move in a different room, everything goes back to normal, my game becomes playable again.

r_speeds can be checked by starting a lan server then typing
developer 1
r_speeds 1
in console. altho i doubt they are over the limit. im not a mapper but i suppose there are (lots) of other things that cause lag when entering a room.

I really didn't want to complain, because it becomes unbearable after awhile :/
Also the metal, surface access and storage d are major FPS drains.. one of the hives on nancy has that problem.. port engine room, iirc

Would a list of all these on a map by map basis be helpful, because I dont want to make it to find out its being ignored by anyone who could fix it?

u should check these things when not in a server, but load up the map on yer own.
I, personally, have never had a problem with ns, on all 4 of my computers, 2 of them are low low end, the other 2 are top.

maybe u should try lowering settings and such, list out yer specs and game settings. maybe someone could help u tweak it.

Maps like co rebirth are laggy all over the place, no offence to the mapper.
But they're within NS guidelines, so there's not much that can be done, apart from beef your computer up a little bit.

Tried reinstalling NS? I only get that effect on co_rebirth, and there it "only" drops to about 20.
