Learn to play
i watched a guy join the server and say "WOW THIS IS AMAZING" and then go skulk and charge 5 marines and die and say "Aliens suck".......

ppl are freakin stupid

seriously u cant run around and run into hmgs and expect to live, u gotta ambush them hit and run...

i recently took down a entire team of hmg equiped heavys with a skulk thanks to monses advice of using a leap jump + bite hit and run tactic..... next person to join marines because they think aliens are bad should really be playing cs again instead of ns....

i also noticed on about 4 servers i played on i was the only one ambushing aka camping for all the loads of cs players tryin this mod out.... seriously ppl get ur act together...

heavies are so easy to hit and run if u manuver and camp right, try gettin cloak even lv 1 will do if ur camping ceilings and such... and i noticed u guys dont get hives up, its not as hard to get hives up as it is for the marines to get resource nodes...

fade r slaughter heavies with bile bomb also guys... peekign around the corner and acid rocketing them and running is a good solution also but seriously even out the freakin teams u wimps

AND STOP CHARGING HEAVIES HEAD ON WITH SKULKS PPL JESUS CHRIST SO DUMB ARGHH

lol You are so right. And people, try reading the freaking manual sometime. It helps. I really have had at least 30 people that I have had to totally teach the game as I was playing the commander. Not that it really bothered me, but if thats the standard amout of poeple who don't read it. Its no wonder why people can play kharaa's at all.

yea i like to ambush marines, its fun... its kind of hard to get used to the low height for skulk and the teeth that git in your vision when you bite, but its still great bein an alien!

I think the problem lies mostly in the marine structures and the people that are playing the game as aliens. Yes I agree the aliens are balanced and are a match for the marines when people are playing them properly. Me and a few people had a great match last night when we were 2 hives down and at least 8 incoming heavies, the problem is that we only had around 5 players on alien which is the problem with most of the games I've played so far. People dont want to be aliens because the game's just been released and they cant be arsed to make the effort. I found hiding on walls with an invisible/semi invisible skulk or hiding in the open as a fade and lashing out as someone walked past was the most fun slice of gaming I've had for a long time. The excitement of hiding, picking off a marine from a group of a few then legging it round a corner to camouflage on a nearby wall is the best fun Ive had in an online game for a while now.

One problem I find though, is that, yes maybe the alien turrets do a lot of damage per shot, but they are #### easy to dodge and they have sod all range. Even hiding a bunch of turrets round a corner didnt do much for their lifespan. A few HMG or even a LMG clip killed a turret pretty easy, whereas it took me at least 20 bile bombs to kill 1 out of a group of 4 turrets just by strafing out and firing so they couldnt hit me. 20? I mean you can only fire about 3 or 4 before ur out of energy. Ok I admit that maybe in a group the turrets are easier to kill, but its very difficult to organise an attack squad because there is no authority figure for the alien team. Sure you can disobey the commander and go off doing what u like as marine, but chances are anywhere u go in the level you will be killed by something, because if you are disobeying the commander hes not going to give you any gadgets to play with (like guns maybe), and the marines that are cooperating will be fortifying forward positions with grens and HMGs making lone alien hunting difficult.

Alien turrets need to hurt more, or hit more.

Also the ono... what are they for? I'm not talking in a private game with teamwork and friends here, but they are useless against structures seeing as most structures are defended by turrets. 3 turrets can waste an ono, even with carapace upgrades, before the ono kills them all. The charge move is good for taking out a group of marines, but only if they are close and not near any turrets. You cant miss an ono, its huge. The only thing I found it really good for was clearing a path for other alien types, which didnt decide to help me attack because they were too busy trying to chase one heavily armoured and armed marine with a fade or skulk using the bite/slash attack.

Give it some time and the true balance of the game will show thru, but last night, the aliens got whupped every time. Max upgrades turrets all over the level, everyone upgraded to a big alien apart from a couple of people building and spinnign webs everywhere and the marines wiped us out in about 10 minutes.

I just said this in another section but I agree totally. You cant use a force on force strategy as the aliens.

    Strats:
Alien: operate in small groups or alone and ambush the enemy (my favorite thing to do is hide on the cieling as the skulk). Dont just attack the first thing with 2 legs, wait to find an alone marine or an otherwise unsuspecting one.

Marines: operate as a group. A single marine is alien food, cuz one-on-one Id put my money on the alien. Dont stray from the closest developed area cuz the last thing you want is to run out of ammo and have a long ### run to get more.

As far as resource managment goes I have no f**king clue. "Damn it Jim... Im a soldier not a bloody engineer!"

I have to tell ya, the onos is insane. I had a score of 50/5 or so last night as an onos. Just sat around in the middle of passages right outside the marine base, cloaking, smashing marines when they ran into me.

When attacking a base as an onos I'd just run in, smash one turret, and then run away, or be teleported by redemption. I haven't found a really efficient way to attack marine bases yet... tried kamekazi and onos smashes and bilebombs... I dunno. Wasn't working well for me. Of course, I was the only one attacking the main base because it was three alines on ten marines, which may have had something to do with it.

remember baal0r, when the bugs are ironed out and the marines resources are toned down a bit, there wont be nearly as many turrets to get killed by with the onus. when the bugs are gone, there will be very few things that will stand in the way of an onus as there wont be nearly as many large weapons shooting at you or heavily armoured marines, just you and a squad of 5 with LMGs. enjoy

Yeah, I was thinking that the Marine's weapons are too strong, but I think that maybe they should just slightly improve the alien turrets and slightly lower the hp/armor of the marine turrets.

I mean for the love of god, they just take too long to destoy. It's just a gun on a tripod, how much armor can the little thing have?
