Implementing playerside precognition would be good for jumping CCs that appear from nowhere.
Perhaps we could have an AI player follow you around, a big giant rabbit, and it would save your life. Then tell you to tk the hive, or something. Yeah.

Hey, they are the ones losing the res. If they have the res to blow that much on CCs...you would probably lose. Remember, for every cc they drop...they also lose a lot of res. If you fear getting blocked, exhaust their resources before charging in.
Keep them from getting a lot of res = keep them from CC blocking.
well if they build a cc and recycle successfully they only lose what...6 res? which is a good exchange for keeping an onos out while destroying a 40 res hive, and keeping and onos in and killing a 75 res onos.
