I havn't gotten around to actually playing but I want to know if camping for aliens is actually an excepted thing. The maps are huge and the hiding spots are endless so my question...
Can i play this game without people whining about camping.
And how is the hack thing with NS because I dont want this mod to go bad with dam hackers.

Na probably not. If it aint "camping" ( I prefer the term Tactical Hiding myself..), it'll be "n00b spraying" or some one will decide that one of the weapons is a "lame n00b weapon ffs LAME!!1!"
Although on a private server the bloke with rcon can of course enforce any bizarre rules they choose..
the bastd had been camping a recource nozel fairly near our base, it was fn COOL! (sory I still get a kick out getting the crap scared outa me by other players ;D)
The Marines were respawn camping, and I died within seconds of each spawn.

Changed servers, and it was much a much better more balanced game (though with the attendant issues described elsewhere).

While I am waiting heres my thoughts on 'camping'.
Every FPS you will ever play will have spots in the maps that are ideal for defensive positions. i.e with a clear line of sight to oncoming targets, or hides you well enough to give you an advantage.
Once you play a FPS long enough you will know all the good hiding spots and therefore check them before proceeding. If you know where they hide, then they wont hide there as they will become easy targets themselves.
'Camping' is a term to make fun of people who take ideal positions to score high points with little risk. Lets face it in RL (and I know this isnt a RL MOD) no one in their right mind would go face to face with the enemy with all guns blazing, when they could stay a screen away and pick them off. Thats why weapons are designed to be ranged (not counting melee weaps here).
The bottom line is..if the gameplay is a 'attack and defend' then you are not camping you are defending. This also includes defending when attacking as you will be adding suppressive firepower onto the enemies thus protecting your team mates.
'Spawn Camping' is a bit lame, but only because half the time the players spawning do not have time to react. To this end I do not linger about Spawns, but maybe nearby. Its called sportsmanship.
That said, as with any MOD clan matches any gentlemans rules will go out the window and it will be a free for all, with both sides aiming to win at any costs, and that WILL includes all the lamest tactics you can think of..sad but true.
Feel free to flame, but as I said these are my thoughts and I couldnt care less if you disagree.
