I Need Weapon Tweaks / High Fps Phase Gate.

I was playing on a server today, and I see "Flayra" join. I had my doubts if it was the real Flayra or not, but I asked for some help and he told me to go to this part of the forum. Reguardless if it was the real Flayra or not, on with the post:

Does anyone have any way to customize the guns / alien weapons for the following preferances:

1) Show the gun, but when you shoot the gun, it doesn't show the animation / make the sound. Show the teeth/claws/whatever, but when you attack, have it not show the animation / make the sound.

-or-

1) Somehow remove the gun entirely. Sound/Animation/Everything.

2) Does anyone have a high FPS phase gate? These things just KILL my FPS. They make my 40 fps drop down to five. They do this... through walls!

3) Is there a way to remove the flash light from my client? Like if other people shine it around, just have it not display the light effect or the glowing? All an enemy marine has to do is turn his flashlight on and it's good game. Friend or Foe.

4) I don't know why, but the following maps lag as if the map is covered with phase gates: Metal(Mainly marine parts of map)/Agora/Bast/Rebirth/Ayumi. These maps ALL lag me down to 5 fps. The worst lag out of all these maps is Bast in FeedWater Control. The water tunnel doesn't lag at all unless I am facing feedwater control. Anyone have any idea/tweak/fix for this massive fps drop? Bast used to not lag before. Either did the other maps.

I used to be able to comm, having early phase gates out and everything. This was two updates ago. Now, all my HL mods lag when someone (Including myself) shines a flash light or a phase gate is around.

I was wanting the weapon models because the fire that spurts out of the LMG kind of covers my entire screen on my really low resolution.

Dynamic Lights 0 and the edited ns.ps files did not help my lag problem with the flashlight/phase gates.

    Yeah I was in a game as well and saw someone named flayra, I was doubting that it was really him because he had no icon next to his name. Isn't true that devs and other high up people get special icons next to their name?

    but if you own the server, there is a server mod which can give you any icon you wish for, but only on that server. so i could be walking around with a dev icon by my name

    Removing the gun model, or stopping the animation would be considered an exploit by some. I'm not one of those people, however, but im afraid I can't help you here.

    you might want to search around for some low poly models and update your video driver.

    Once upon a time I made a phase gate "fix" for low-spec people. It was just a low-res single-frame sprite for the particle effect.

    Maus can you link me to your fix? If possible can you remove the particle effect?     So typing that in the console will make them go away? I'll try it tommorow.

    Buddy, my best advice to you... get a new vid card...

    I know the problem on bast/rebirth SUCKS... it's due to, at least on rebirth, what I believe is a LEAK in the map... yes... a leak... I've seen it... very small... but still there

    Anywho, it KILLS vid drives... go get a geforce4... seen em as low as 50 bucks...

    Don't tell me to get a new Video card. This topic is about getting me a low res model for the phase gate.

    I don't have an AGP slot or I would have gotten a new video card.

    you say that the problem happened in all your mods after an update....can u polz check to see what your connection speed is in steam? people have had similar problems bc some of the steam updates were defaulting your internet connection speed to 14.4 ...{chnge it back to whatver it shoudl be}see if that helps ... and aside form the update nothing else has chamged? since u say u havent had the probelm till soem steam updates

    My latency is fine. It's just when someone activates a flashlight or a phase gate is nearby I get massive FPS drops.

    reinstall your video drivers, If you are using Direct X, reinstall that as well.
    If it still doesnt work, try rolling back your video card driver to the previous version.

    did u check it anyway? one of those people who had a similar problem was me and doing that fixed it.... your latency to the server is fine but your update is set to low so even thought u ping good u arent getting the updates fast enouigh..and since poeple are moving around with there flashlights on and stuff that causes more stuff needing to be sent.....so basically in my gibbeersih i am saying that u would ping fine but still have crappy fps bc ur fps is also tied to your update rate

    I've done everything BrigadierWolf listed, and yes my update is set correctly.

    Link is broken to structure pack. None of the others contain phase gates.

    I did use search, didn't work. I type phase and couldn't find one.
