My father is a Mac fanboy. I have had to use OS 9 to get work done. Thus, I love this video. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I've seen it before, in better quality too. Are Mac's really that bad? I haven't really used them, just a few times in school, and that would just be a few specific, simple programs.

OS X is so NOT built on linux. Its built on annother UNIX derivative called Darwin. To us OS geeks there is a huge amount of difference between the two. Namely Darwin is pretty much PPC only, has a vastly different driver system, is a microkernel, and is actually much more BSDish. I suppose that to most people this will just sound like nitpicking though.

Basically, Mac users can get blizzard games. And yes, blizzard is good. But... that's about it. I'd link you to the "Mac Gamer" switch add on redvsblue, but they're rebuilding their site right now, and so the video is down.

Do you use it regularly?
I do use it regularly, it's good for some things, it has it's pitfalls like any other OS, like the crashing when doing intensive work.
It's not made for gaming (although there are plenty of good games, mmm Marathon). For what I use macs for (Video editing) they do their job pretty well. I like PCs, but I can't see doing the kinds of work I do on a mac with a PC. It's do-able, but why?

The same reason you don't use a screwdriver to hammer in nails. It'll screw them up. The hammer is better-suited. Though personally, I've never found anything that I can use a Mac for that wouldn't run better and faster on a PC... was forced to use a dual G5 at college for Maya modelling, and the damn thing crashes every fifteen minutes at the outside. But they had to buy them as the A/V teacher is a rabid Mac fanboy, and he got all the aging hardware after the AT track was upgraded. Complained until the department head gave in and let him have his way.
Oh, and the Flash version of that video is pretty cruddy... I've still got my full-quality AVI. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
