Why?
An "average" guy made a tape of a decapitation that caused a hell of a lot of people to believe it, before he stepped forward and said it was false. What if someone got together when some friends, made a tape, released it, and then didn't come out and say it was false? Think of the repurcussions in the world from that. And what if professionals got together and made one? It would be even more effective.
He made a valid point, and made it in an extreme way.

Shows how easy this sort of stuff can happen, and the messages that they cause.
From what I gathered, it looks like it wasn't supposed to be blown out of proportion like this. The story is kinda like how Star War Kid got started.
it's a good thing that he stepped out and told the truth at all.
