New Steam Problems
Got new computer

NSP is in the Valve/Steam/SteamApps/UserName/Half-life

It does this for all other mods as well, however that makes sense. I did not download Counter-Strike or Day of Defeat yet. However, I dont think Steam is recgonizing NS. I was not prompted to spend 2 hours updated (like I was when Steam was first introduced) so I think that might have something to do with it, but I cant figure out how to force it to update.

Well the trick that used to work was deleting "ClientRegistry.blob" in your steam dir. That should force it to update, unless valve broke yet another part of steam

Did you run Half-Life at least once to make sure that some of the required files are all created?

You did not download and update HL, nor did you run HL one time to make the correct directory structure, unless you forgot to list those.

Correct, I did not run Half-Life. Steam does not even list Half-Life in "My games" so I can't run it. Would running it off the Sierra folder even do anything?

...You need to get half life downloaded and installed in Steam. Running it from what you seem to be describing as your WON directory won't do any good. Either uninstall everything relating to NS/steam then reinstall (MAKING SURE YOU DOWNLOAD AND RUN HL BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE ON STEAM), or delete your clientregistry.blob and platform.gcf and see where that gets you.

Usually you have to run Halflife once before you run NS. Those files are key to getting NS to work. Is HL SP installed in your steam directory? If it is, run it and play it for like a few seconds then quit.

Anyway, I think I figured out the problem.

I made a new account (ie need a new CD key) becuase I forgot the password to my old account and the email on that account expired, however, I think I fixed that problem so now I should be able to logon and at least not get a "CD Key Duplication" error.
