Do Not Start An Ns 3.0 Beta Listenserver!

The problem with Natural Selection beta 3.0 listenservers is very serious and may well affect other Half-Life mods, such as Day of Defeat. This will be the second time I have had to reinstall Steam as a result of this bug, and it is starting to look as though to fully fix the problem I am going to have to reinstall Windows, or at the very least my video drivers and possibly my sound drivers.

I run listenservers all the time to test my maps and I've never had a problem (non map related that is <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->). Sounds more like a problem on your end. Maybe you can also tell us exactly what the problem is? Like are there any error messages that popup? And how does it affect other mods exactly?

EDIT: Just as a side note that I forgot to add... I use Steam to run the listenservers, not the old WON method and I have not tested it since like last week... been too busy...

When I start up the server I start lagging and "sticking". I'll move forward or backward and keep running in that direction, if I try to jump I will maybe jump one or two seconds after I press the keys. The kicker is that once this has happened in Natural Selection it starts happening in DOD as well.

It was only happening when I started a listenserver with a shortcut, but with the latest Steam update it started happening as well when I started the server up through the Natural Selection menu.

I have replaced my mouse drivers, I will see if that helps. The funny thing is it wasn't affecting any other mods, other than DOD after I had the problem with NS.

If you look on the front page to NS.org there is mentioned a problem with listenservers so your problem may be related.

The NS team is working on it to fix it.

I believe that the listenserver problem they are referring to was introduced in Beta5. However, I am not in the inner circle, so take whatever I say with a grain of salt.

It sure as hell isn't for beta 4, everyone was running listen servers at the CPL a week ago with no problems... unless the latest steam update is acting up

This is an unrelated problem. Goto tech support. I've been running listenservers all the time when I was playing.
