Anyone care to hand me it, please?
I'm sitting at a strictly admined computer at the moment, and I'll be sitting here for the next two weeks too. All I can do is a bit of surfing on the net.
So I won't get bored during late nights, I've started a small research project for myself that includes understanding .bsp files, entities etc. I've come pretty far now, but I lack one last piece of the puzzle: A fdg file. Googling for it gave me a lot of broken links of old cstrike.fdg files, and I have no chance of downloading the entire NS install or any other HL mod.
So, could any of you kind mappers please make this file available for me to download? I would be extremely grateful.
(Actually, any .fdg file would suffice.)
Thanks!

There used to be a download link for the fgd in the mapping guidelines and if you search this forum, there was a custom set released not so long ago which has really handy custom sprites for each point entity.

surely if it was that it would be a GDF file (Game Data File)
having it "file game data", sounds weird

WRONG. The FGD is ONLY used for the mapping. All the FGD contains is information about every entity and its' properties. If you add an entity to the fgd, it will not work in-game unless it has been coded in. So the FGD only works as a reference for the entities used. It is possible to make a mod or map for a mod without an FGD, however it's alot harder (believe me, I've tried).
The project changed name to Hammer, but they did not bother to replace parts such as the FGD extension.
brute_force is correct about the nature of FGD files.
Why did I need this FGD file? Because I'm creating a game using BSP maps with entities and I want to be able to use Quake/HL map editors.
