There is a metamod plug-in that fixes this

I do belive that it was fixed for b5, it happened because of some collision code

The plugin fixes waypoints registering as different orders when you click something. For example "weld target at waypoint", "attack target" or "pickup equipment at waypoint". Sorry, oOtreOo, I believe we didn't understand your problem. Can you explain it again? You say sometimes you can't place waypoints at all? Have you tried the select all soldiers button?

(And I believe the waypoints aren't fixed for beta 5)

You have to have marines selected in order to give them a waypoint. The system is pretty flexible, even if it currently is difficult to give build/weld orders.

Try this: Find a couple marines on your map.. now click and drag a box around them, just like WC3 or SC. It should show their health bars, indicating that they've been selected, and you can order them about. Now rightclick on somewhere on the map.

Better yet, hit the "Select all" button, then hold Control (Or whatever your +duck key is) and press 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5. Squad 2 is best. When you want to order everyone about again, press the key you assigned them to to get everyone selected again.

You're probably trying to give a building a waypoint, or something.. You know, selecting a building to upgrade something, then finding something under attack, hitting space, telling everyone over the mic and trying to give a waypoint quickly only to realize that you've got the armory selected.

ok im explaining wrong i guess ..

After i have selected the troops.. and tried to give them a wp.. the wp wont .. appear..
neither can i give a new... this happens a couple of times at every game and not depending on server.

So im forced to again select the tropps or / marine and give a new wp on another location.

and its not jsut 1 map or some buggy places it happends on .. it differs.

( im very much aware of the difficultys with giving welding wp, pickup etc this is not the find magic spot kinda problem)

I think I know what your talking about, I usually encountered the same problem if I was using the mini-map in the corner of the screen to move around a lot.

Basically what happens is if your using the mini-map to scroll around and jump from hot-spot to hot-spot, you can sometimes get...well basically hung up on the edge of the map; you'll be able to scroll with the mouse, jump to your marines if you press 1-5, however you will not be able to give waypoints and if you look you'll notice that white square representing your vision is probably stuck on the edge of the map somewhere. Just click back on the square, (which will bring your vision back to the edge) and drag it back onto the main body, at which point you'll be able to lay waypoints again.

If it sounds ridiculously tedious, it is but after a month or so it just becomes second nature, like all the quirks and bugs and glitches with the comm interface, you get so used to working with them and around them that after a while they scarcley bother/hamper you anymore.

    Hope that helps.
