Evolving To Fade

<div class="IPBDescription">Small tweak</div> Many may have noticed that you can gestate into a fade damn near anywhere you want. Now the fade is a tall tall creature, and it shouldn't be able to gestate in a VENT. Not the most game changing idea ever created, but it is there... and it should be fixed.

    The fade crouches inside the egg, so it can fit the vent when the gestation finishes. Simple as that.

    Edit: Any special reasons it should be different?

    It crouches and is born (from gestation) in a fetal position. I think it's believable.

    I'm not thinking believeable... What about having a proper risk to compliment the reward?

    There's a rule somewhere, I believe, that says something like: The instant you hit a key to gestate to fade and you're NOT in a vent, you will start hearing marine footsteps.

    I know this rule is true. I have learned it through a couple painfully stupid wastes of res. Now I always fade in a vent. If you can fit in there as a fade, there's no reason you shouldn't be able to gestate in there as well. The only way I could think to change it would be to give fades a new hull size when crouched. Which would probably require an entirely new hull file. Which would probably require every NS map ever made to be recompiled, again, with the new hull file.

    Why does evolving to fade need to be risky? You already get the risk/reward element when making hit and run attacks.

    Hey... if everyone wants the vent evolving to stay i have no problem with it. I just noticed the fade is pretty close to being as tall as the onos... but it can evolve in vents.

    well an onos is fat and tall while the fade is tall and thin not to mention onos cant fit it almost all vents in the game
