Old School Pc Game Music
<div class="IPBDescription">NON-CONSOLE ONLY!</div> It seems like when old school game music is mentioned, the spotlight is always turned to the soundtracks from SNES titles. Seldom does PC game music ever seem to be of worthy mention.
If you can override your hatred of synthetic bleating for just one moment, I really think the following tracks (1-3 are midi format, 4-11 are mod format) really stand out as really great music from the PC history. Or maybe they're just damn catchy. Since the musical limitation for games no longer exist now like they did in the past, I'd really like to hear some of these tracks redone (would especially love to hear a #3 redone in Big Band <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo--> )
I'll leave the name of these tracks anonymous... let's see if you guys can still recognize these tunes. (All these tracks can be found from the <a href='http://www.mirsoft.info/gamemods.php' target='_blank'>World of Game MODs</a>)
<a href='http://s95094929.onlinehome.us/stuff/1.mid' target='_blank'>#1 - Let's start easy...</a>
<a href='http://s95094929.onlinehome.us/stuff/2.mid' target='_blank'>#2 - Works well in a cop show.</a>
<a href='http://s95094929.onlinehome.us/stuff/3.mid' target='_blank'>#3 - One of only two midis to grace my mp3 playlist.</a>
<a href='http://s95094929.onlinehome.us/stuff/4.mod' target='_blank'>#4 - One of the better fighting games for PC</a>
<a href='http://s95094929.onlinehome.us/stuff/5.mod' target='_blank'>#5 - From the same game as #4</a>
Following four are from one of the best games of all time. #8 & #9 have actually been redone in the 3DO version.
<a href='http://s95094929.onlinehome.us/stuff/6.mod' target='_blank'>#6</a>
<a href='http://s95094929.onlinehome.us/stuff/7.mod' target='_blank'>#7</a>
<a href='http://s95094929.onlinehome.us/stuff/8.mod' target='_blank'>#8</a>
<a href='http://s95094929.onlinehome.us/stuff/9.mod' target='_blank'>#9</a>
Favourite non-mp3 game traacks. Hell, two of my favourite tracks of all time actually. (I used the main character of the game for my avatar a long time ago):
<a href='http://s95094929.onlinehome.us/stuff/10.mod' target='_blank'>#10</a>
<a href='http://s95094929.onlinehome.us/stuff/11.mod' target='_blank'>#11</a>
So what other old-school PC game tracks really hit a cord for you guys?

SOOO CLOSE
1 is duke nukem 3D silly XD
~whaps sonic repeatedly with a cheesecake~
<b>edit:</b> not too sure on the rest but the 'one must fall' tracks are cool. I miss the old midi beats. Don't get game music that has me jumping much anymore though (pardon the console mention) beyond good and evil had some nifty tracks =3
<b>edit 2:</b> omg! what's that last game, tracks 10 and 11??? I remember those tunes and it feels good but I can't place them =o
Was just playing doom II and they sounded similar, and i completed duke 3d a few days ago. Dam heat making me confused
I just remember the main guy looking like a crimson boba-fet, it was isometric and it had some head cracking puzzles and snazzy combat. Kinda felt like fallout but at the same time very very different (combat wasn't turn based for a start) =3
I need to go find a copy of it again now o.O
<b>edit:</b> hey! it came out on <a href='http://www.psxa2z.com/gpgs/BT0241.html' target='_blank'>playstation</a> too... when did that happen? =o
