<div class="IPBDescription">:/</div> Did a few searches and couldnt find anything on this.

Its about those alien warning hives. "life form under attack etc"

Man they are extremely annoying!!!

Im trying to sneak up on a marine and I listening to where he is going, all of a sudden LIFE FORMS UNDER ATTACK and im like ok now I have no idea which way he went. Even worse when your listening out for an ambush tbh :/

So, is there anyway of taking these sounds out of the game?

I dont mean like the next version or anything, but is there something I can do to MY game to get rid of them?

You can replace the sounds with a silent wav or (I havent tested this one... it may cause problems) simply delete them, the files you are looking for are:

    \Steam\SteamApps\<username>\half-life\nsp\sound\hud\alien_lifeformattack1.wav
    and
    \Steam\SteamApps\<username>\half-life\nsp\sound\hud\alien_lifeformattack2.wav

I do not know what sort of effect this will have with joining consistency on servers... so make sure to back up the two files in case you need to put them back.

I do believe that you would need them (It would look for that file and then if you didn't have it an error would appear "Your file 'blah' is missing". I forget who, but someone suggested that you might just replace it with an ambient sound. Or if you have a sound editing program, just turn it down a little bit, that way you know someones under attack but it doesn't disrupt your gameplay.

I'm gonna try lowering the volume of the clip in sound forge... we'll see how that works out <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
