Annoying Windows Problem
<div class="IPBDescription">removable media not refreshing</div> Well, i've got this annoying as hell problem with Windows XP (Home ed.) that just won't leave me alone.
Basically, none of my removable media updates when i change a disc. In the screenie attached you can see in Mr Computer that D: is a PCZ cover DVD and F: is something called Disc 1 (No idea what, heh), but in the Computer Management window you can see that F: Has Deus Ex in and D: has my Win2k recovery disc in.
The only way i can get Mr Computer to update is through a reset, and i can't be bothered to do that each time i change CDs. Also, it's not just forgetting to update the name, it remembers autorun settings too, so frequently if i double click on a DVD drive it will attempt to load the previous disc's autorun.
So basically, anyone have any ideas of how to sort this. I am using D-Tools for the F:, but i didn't have a problem with that before.

Apparently windows is retarted and requires autoplay to update your windows explorer view.
Now, if you use normal windows configuration tools to turn autoplay back on, it usually doesn't solve the problem.
If you have, in fact, turned off autoplay. I'd start researching autoplay registry settings and turn them all back on till it starts working again, then tweak the drives individually.
It's something like HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SYSTEM > CurrentControlSet > Services > Cdrom then changed AutoRun from 0 to 1.
EDIT: You've sorted it as I've written this. Grmbl.. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
