Figured id show off!
Well, here it is, my very first model ever. Done in Gmax, thus the lack of a render. I kept the edged faces on becuase it made detail stand out more. Just looking for a bit of feedback on it, in no way is this -ever- meant to be used for any video game at any point in time.

I am though, working on a concept for another (O_O) NS pistol. Just 'cause they're easy to model.

(._. Yes, I am aware of how shoddy the trigger is.)

its not bad for the first, does the slide move? or is it attatched to the body? i really would suggest not using gmax, and try ms3d, but i wont preech about it today, its just a suggestion.

anyway, try and finish this model, even if you're not gonna compile it. make sure there's an ejection port, add a hammer, some sites, and a barrel. then you'd have a wicked cool model ^__^

edit: oh, there're some sites, missed em first go-round. and i see the barrel.. its not too bad then.

right now it's just a nubcaek model, all one solid piece. and the only reason im using Gmax: it's free. not until I get a good grasp of modeling will I think about buying a program.

edit: im not sure why the barrel is visible in that picture, from the front view of the gun it's centered...you shouldnt be able to to see it. I also have to find out how to hollow out the barrel.

milkshape, 30 day trial period, 30 bux to buy. i'd try it for the 30 days, and then decide if you wanna buy it

I already tried the ms3d trial, for some reason it tells me its expired, but ive never used it. :\

I also detached the slide portion from the rest of the model, now i have to figure out a way to close off the now open areas, that were once the slide.

You could really do with cutting down on the number of polys in the handle. Sure, you might think that you need them to get the shape right, but remember that most of them are going to be covered up by the hand holding the gun.

Yeah, i'm aware. Thank you for the tip though. I just did it like that because this isnt going to be part of a game, and I want the gun only images to look right.

it looks like u have quite a few vertex errors.

If i were u, go into the help sub forum and look for the post by frostymoose about some videos for modelling, they'll help you get the technique down.
