I always thought it would be nice if RTs represented map control. Like really, what are these towers that appear to be sucking res out of the ground really doing? Alien RTs don't have big pipes attached running back to the hive. Marine RTs don't have little power plugs on the back that you attach your armory to. It would make more sense, game wise, if they represented control over the map. Nano-gridlock at work. The towers are actually harvesting the res, but also exerting control over the nanites or the bacteria in a given area.
Wouldn't it be classy if you couldn't drop anything in a given area (as determined by mapper) around an RT, until that RT had been built for your team? Say, each res nozzle had it's own zone of influence that reached to the border of the next node's zone. And meds/ammo/structure, chamber, hive dropping only worked within those zones. It would turn NS on its head and make it completely about territory control.
Of course, this couldn't be the BUS, as it would require a complete remake of all the maps with new res zones coded into the map, not to mention a lot of recoding of the game. But it is a neat idea I've had bouncing around and this seemed as good a place to mention it as any.

Hmm well now that the NS team has found out that they can not fix the hitbox bug themselves it shouldn't be too much longer until beta 5 is released. Then we get NS on the 'My Games' list, and get instant auto-updates!

Remember the unpopular NS 2.01c, where gorges could only build within a certain distance of the hive and RTs. That could not have just been a balance decision. Flayra was likely trying to add another system into NS. Nanites indeed...

Woops, forgot the specifics of that build, but I knew it has something to do with some radius around the hive restriction. I remember all the "WTH"s when I played it for the first time and the forum outcry, so it was definitely unpopular. Personally, I thought it sucked but it showed promise.

The Bus is going to be the biggest thing EVER implemented in the game, and everyone will like it. It will completely balance the game, make each game exciting...
I'm just guessing, I hope the bus does something like that.
It also would not fufill any purpose in NS: if it was a stats system at all, it would focus on logging team stats and weapon usage in order to fix balance problems and plug holes extremely quickly, especially in combination with steam.
Of course, it wouldn't be all too hard to adjust to, so that idea is out the window.

Wow, I had forgotten just how nasty the 2.01c nerfs were. That was a very painful build to test.
