this would probably be better in the ns customization forum. i think if you edit the colors on your crosshair sprite so the last color is red, then it might make it red, but that is just a guess. there might already be some red crosshairs released so search for em.

    - Get half-life sprive viewer
    - Find the .spr file you want to change
    - Convert it to a bmp file with sprview
    - edit it
    - save it as a bmp with the right palette
    - get sprgen.exe from the HL SDK (if u don't want to download it I can upload it for you)
    - write the .qc file for your sprite
    - execute sprgen -16bit yourqcfile.qc
    - backup the old spr file
    - copy the one you've just created to the ns\sprites directory

BTW I made a yellow "+" crosshair for myself. If you want to try it I've attached it to this post.

I would recommend using Sprite Wizard (rather than SprGen). It's a much simpler process, and is as powerful as you'd ever need (and there's no messy QC file to deal with).

Download Sprite Viewer and Sprite Wizard

Using Sprite Viewer, open the .SPR you want to edit and extract a .BMP

Open the resulting .BMP with an image editor (e.g. PaintShop Pro)

Change the last color of the palette to whatever color you want the crosshair to be, and save

Recompile the .BMP into an .SPR, using Sprite Wizard

Replace files as appropriate in /nsp/sprites/ (making backups as necessary)

    thx for the nice tool´s.
i think the sprite viewer + sprite wizard are reale easy to use.
but i cant find the crosshair sprites in NS.
know someone where i find them ?

@ FireStorm: nice crosshair, what i want is an crosshair like that one, but if it posible in red... (i need in my age a higher contrast *ggg*)

I wouldn't reccomend sprite wizard because it doesn't manage to create valid spr files sometimes... but sure you can try it.

Hotfox: Ok if you need the same thing I can change the color for you.

Every sprite I've ever made with Sprite Wizard has worked
