Turn "developer 2" on before doing this. That allows you to see what is loading. I am assuming you have a basic knowledge of how to use your config.

Backup your config file before you change any of these, and change them one by one to figure out what works best for you. Just remember to have a backup of your .cfg or you could get realy messed up.

Also update your video card drivers to the current version, and download the latest version of directX. Set your Vertical Sync to "Always OFF" in your video card settings.

gl_ztrick 0(1) **Slight speed gain if on.

gl_texsort 1(0) **BIG speed hit if enabled

gl_dither 1(1) **Doesn’t affect speed for a Voodoo2 specifically.

gl_texturemode GL_LINEAR_MIPMAP_NEAREST(GL_LINEAR_MIPMAP_NEAREST)

Values (1)GL_NEAREST
(2)GL_NEAREST_MIPMAP_NEAREST
(3)GL_LINEAR
(4)GL_LINEAR_MIPMAP_NEAREST
(5)GL_LINEAR_MIPMAP_LINEAR

cl_himodels 1(0) **Slight speed hit if on.

r_shadows 1(0) **Quite a considerable speed hit if on.

gl_round_down 3(3) Value 0-3

r_decals 50 **Improves speed if set to lower value for extended period of gaming session.

r_traceglow 0(0)

r_mmx 1(1) Toggle **Very slight speed boost if on for MMX processors.

d_spriteskip 0(0) ** Helps in multiplay for explosions

gl_playermip "3"
gl_picmip "2" ** (These commands makes the textures stretch/or not, so that your computer can draw the the textures faster and therefore higher FPS. But this results in bigger pixels. If you set the number too high you wont be able to see the time left, money, hp, kevlar etc. The limit where you can't see your money anymore is gl_picmip "2". The player picmip is not that important so you can have that higher if you're not so keen on nice grapics But you still got to see whos on your team and who's not.)

fps_max 100

Here are some helpfull websites for that:

Another thing you can do if you have an ATI card (maybe NVidiots can do this as well? ) is set it to "high performance."

Right-click your desktop and hit the propeties button. Go to the settings tab and hit advanced. Go to the OpenGL tab and slide the little bar all the way to the left and hit OK.
