Playing Ns W/o Steam

I have been looking over the tech forums for a while, and it seems that every post involves running steam before the patch installs.

Is there a way to run NS without having to use the steam program? I have second hand CD-keys that I bought from a resell shop, and cannot register for a steam account.

    Valve has publicly announced that they were shutting down WON a few weeks ago.

    Firestorm posted the solution which enabled me to play NS without Steam.
