    There's a big split between people on that one. On one side, you have people who hated it almost as much as Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel for the consoles, because it had the Fallout name on it but nowhere near as much NPC interaction or roleplaying elements as F1&2.
    On the other hand, you have people like me, who love game series like X-Com and Jagged Alliance, as well as the newer Silent Storm. I was fine with a little reduction in roleplaying open-endedness because I enjoyed the new realtime combat and multiplayer in a familiar setting and atmosphere.

    Either way, both types of people either hate Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel or *should* hate it if they don't. I don't want to get into ranting details yet, but I certainly hope Bethesda doesn't make many of the same mistakes made with FOBOS.

    it's over, it's not gonna be isometric.

    IGNPC: Can we expect something similar to the work done on Morrowind, in terms of that style of game experience?

    Pete Hines: Again, it's early to say, but it wouldn't be a leap of faith to say that we plan to use technologies in development otherwise. You could make some fairly safe leaps of faith that it would be similar in style. We're not going to go away from what it is that we do best. We're not going to suddenly do a top-down isometric Baldur's Gate-style game, because that's not what we do well.

    It not being Isometric isn't a thing I fear, I fear that it will look like Morrowind with b0x0rr0x0ring bunnyhop action in realtime.
    I want my Vault-dweller with both of his feet on the ground, while eradicating many Super Mutants with his minigun. In turn based !

    But a Junktown in 3D .... /me drools <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    The attitude of some Fallout fans is ridiculous (this is me being nice, what I really meant is much more flamey). Do you think that turned base combat and an isometric perspective were what made Fallout? Ugh, you're just like those Thief fanboys that cried bloody murder when they found out that a third person view would be in Thief 3.

    For those of us that want the Fallout series to go somewhere, this is great news. For the rest of you, well, don't despair! They've already made the game you want, and you can buy it right <a href='http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00001QEQ8/qid=1089748838/sr=1-2/ref=sr_1_2_etk-vg/103-6377371-5979808?v=glance&s=videogames&n=468642' target='_blank'>here</a>.

    Bethesda has a reputation of listening to its fans, but I hope it doesn't do it this time. I don't want a carbon copy of the first two games, I want something new, something interesting, something <i>worth buying</i>.

    Isometric graphics ? No

    Turn based combat ? Yes

    That or a similar system to what they had in Baldurs Gate and Planescape Torment, where you can pause at will and still give orders.
    Because when I play an RPG I don't wanna have a clickfest or use my godlike reflexes (<!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->).

    I wanna see where the enemies are, look for possibilities that will make me victorious, and I wanna take my sweet time doing it.
    Turn based gives me this opertunity, real time does not.
    Therefor, Turnbased > Realtime, in Fallout
