need some help, too
Don't you hate it when games say that you can go around NYC and all that and then they include like one object/scenery that is REAL from the real world?
Can any talented mappers create a map that looks exactly (or almost exactly) like their neighborhood or a place that they visit?
the idea is to take a place and create a map that is 100% identical (maybe except for vents and the flood and whatnot, and textures) ... so then if we were to play the map, we could come to the real spot and it would be exactly (or close to) the map in NS ...
BTW, where can I get started on mapping for NS? (programs, tutorials and whatnot)

apparently halflife2 fixes that (plus if u wait for hl2 u'd be able to put alot more detail in (remember we're using a 6 year old engine))
check the stickies at the top of the mapping help forum for how to setup the things u'll need for map making
and then check valve-erc for tutorials
And a city is a bad idea for ns if you ask me, sure it could be fun but hard to balance due to the wide open areas and also due to the half-life engine limitations. If you still want to create a rich and atmospheric environment that is
