<div class="IPBDescription">'Get your rates fixed!'</div> Ok, Please dont start moaning about 'all players are different' but......is there any plug-ins that will set players cl_updaterate(>60) and rate to something decent.

Basicaly I have been having alot of problems on my server with people who have a low cl_updaterate and its hard as hell to kill them <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I have been led to belive that a combination of low update rate and rate makes it much harder to kill people

Such a plugin, by the way, would make people with bad connections lag to hell and have a lot of trouble hitting targets

"Rate Manager" is the plugin you're looking for. A quick search for those keywords on amxmod.net or amxmodx.org will get you the plugin.

The plugin will cause pain for the dying breed that is dialup users.

Also DSL users with bad networks, which are hardly a dying breed in America

I had rate manager on my server for a bit. Turns out it was better without it.

I ended up removing it after a few weeks...

    YMMV.

    It's definately a niche solution.

Poor people caught in the cross fire, Im going to try it out as the server runs a few custom maps, that normaly means we get few/no 56kers

cl_cmdrate is the one that tells the client how many packets to send to the server. Hopefully they will support retrieving this info from players in NSb5. It just depends if Voogru gets around to it. I have a pluggin all made up ready to support all three network settings as soon as its supported.

While using RM to force players to higher network settings is good, just make sure your server has enough cpu power to handle the extra packets. Also running a Ping booster to not let those packets go to waste is a very good idea.

FYI, dont try to use the exclution part of RM because its based on WonIDs. The pluggin has yet to be updated.
