The only thing it does is that you will be on your list as well. Delete yourself, and you'll have the old list back.

    Yes, and what Obst is asking is "what problem does that fix?"

    I'd like to know, too, incidentally. I don't see how this improves anything. Especially considering there are many other ways Friends could be improved, like for instance, making it actually work consistently.

    The problem is that myself, and a lot of other people, upon signing on to the steam friends list after a week of down time didn't have a friends list. You had to re-add them all. This fixes it.

    Worked for me. I logged into friends, saw All my friends on the list were gone. Did the fix, had all my friends back, plus my own name.     I think the reason that we all lost our list is because steam was logging us in as a different person.

    Are you quite sure it works? Have you seen any person be online?
    Because that's what I heard. The fix doesn't work.
    Oh yes, you get the names back, and all that, but you won't see their status change when they do anything. Meaning it's pretty useless except for seeing their nicks and emails.
