Hey, it can't hurt to be optimistic.

Nice how they offer it to people who buy their crappy c:zero game instead of offering it to say, you know, the best CS clanners in the world who actually make the game popular as it is

Well, I'd but CS:CZ just to get this. I doubt any 10 year old 1337 CS Players have CS:CZ... It might make CS fun.

updating the graphics doesn't change the gameplay or the community, so how will it make it fun?

I was kind of excited about CS:Source, hoping they'd add all kinds of new stuff. More and more signs pointed towards the same boring gameplay with new graphics, and it looks like this is the stake in the coffin of my hopes.

Well don't give up quite yet. A simple port, yes, but it also allows for new gameplay enhancing technology, such as more weapons/movable boxes/vehicles/ut-redemeer-style cameras and the list goes on.

Obviously you scoffers haven't seen the video showing CS:Source. Notice the barrels flying around? The expanded weapon piercing physics? Many other things? It'll change gameplay a lot.

haha, physics will barely impact on gameplay. flying barrels? wow...

the biggest impact on gameplay i can think of (although it is still fairly minor) is the improved vehicles.

Let me ask you this: If a guy throws a frag nade, and it launches a group of barrels nearby, it MAY just happen to LAND ON YOU. Or we could have the other piece, where someone slowly erodes away someone's cover by shooting it, or letting it catch on fire. It'll change a lot- these aren't the same maps as before AT ALL. Very different.

i wonder if the wooden double doors on most maps would shatter away when shot that would be cool hehe

and yeah some stuff will change, but i doubt it will be a VERY drastic change

The m249 might have a much greater use now

If there is one thing I would want riht now in CS: Source....it would be wooden doors that are shreddable.

Adds some use to the M249, finally! No more cowering Ts hiding behind those double doors in de_aztec!

That, or exploding barrels o doom that you can push around, RE style.

Wouldn't that damage the fancy switches and delicate parts that you can shoot with AK bullets to no ill effect?

and there will be, what, 1-2 barrels in a couple of maps? if bloody exploding barrels are the biggest change you can think of, i can't see this game being much different.

Of course it does give many people the chance to test the source engine on their PC's before HL2 is released.

cs will pretty much be the same, the current maps look craptacular. I wasn't that impressed with the videos, either. They didn't really show anything new, apart from graphics and jumping through the water.

The only game change I can really see is some looney will run around in the water and go "OMG LOOK AT MY FEET!11" and make so much noise everyone knows where he is anyway.

and thats just off the top of my head, it's really only up to whoever is developing it to say if it stays the same or becomes something entirely different.

I see a problem or two with letting people who bought Condition Zero to play CS: Source:

1: These people are incredibly stupid, and bought Condition Zero. I can only assume these people are idiots.

2: Idiots do not make good beta testers.

3: Feedback from stupid people isnt very helpfull.

4: This is obviously a way to get more than 10 people to buy Condition Zero. Nice Move valve. Now you can get even more idiots onto the PT team who are so desperate to play on source that they will sink so low as to buy such a piece of garbage.

The really sad thing about CZ is they ruined it themselves. If they had done it the right way (the Ritual way) I would've bought it, and I hate that freakin' game.
